It is home to several tribes, ethnic and social groups. The continent is divided into two cultural groups: North Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. The Northwest has strong ties to the Middle East and the sub-Saharan region has as a major factor in the culture the hard and dry environment that dictates food, dialects, art and musical styles.

The Brazilian culture is a result of the mixture of ethnicity and peoples that constitute the country since its “discovery” in 1500 by Portuguese settlers. Before the arrival of the Portuguese, the country has several indigenous tribes that had their own characteristics that differentiated them from one another. Brazilian cultural diversity was influenced by four major groups: the Portuguese settlers, the Indians, the African blacks who were brought in by the Portuguese to compose the slave and European laborers from other regions that migrated to the country.

Brazil is marked by miscegenation, and there are behaviors of the population today that is the result of the mixing of multiple groups. The Portuguese language is also an important element of national unity.

Due to the great territorial extension, different groups settled in the country and influenced the local language in different ways so today there are different intonations and expressions in several regions.

In my opinion, it is quite important during the discussions on culture to point out that there is not just one culture. Throughout history there were numerous cultures that differed from each other by historical factors, geography, traditions, religion, dialects, among others. And from the principle that there is not only one culture, it must be argued that none is better than the other and that differences between cultures do not place one above the other, only define and define those who practice them.
The importance of discussing this fact lies in the fear that the human being has of the other. We live in a world where there is a lot of prejudice and xenophobia that brings the idea that the other is inferior.
Another important point that deserves to be emphasized is that culture must be protected, studied, analyzed and preserved. Governments should protect them by encouraging them to study, making museums, and distributing knowledge about them, for the culture of a people dictates who it once was and who it is now. The fire of the National Museum is a demonstration of total neglect of the Brazilian government with the culture of our country and with our ancestors, and this type of tragedy must be avoided at all costs.
