August 1963. This was a huge protest that happened. Over 250,000 people gathered in front of the Lincoln memorial. They wanted to bring more attention to the bad things that were happening to black people. Martin Luther King Jr also gave his "I have a dream" speech. This is important because the event led more people to care about the revolution.
