Blm: Justice is demanded for George Floyd

George Floyd was a 46 year old man who was brutally killed over 20 dollars. George Floyd went to the grocery store like everyone in this world does. He handed the cashier a 20 dollar bill but they seemed to suspect that it was fake so they called up 911 to make sure everything was okay. George Floyd was in his car when 4 police officers pulled up and demanded him to step out of the car. Things escalated quickly and unfortunately one of the officers who was named Derek Chauvin put his knee on Georges neck for almost 9 minutes. During those 9 minutes none of the other officers told him to stop while George was begging for his life, even bystanders were telling them he was going to die if they did not do something fast. Later that day the paramedics announced that George Floyd who was a father, a son, a husband and a brother had died. Once this awful story reached the media people were not happy at all and created protests in order to get justice for him. The 4 police officers have been fired and now charged with murder because what happened was not right. No one should die for the colour of their skin. Black lives matter protest are still going on and its important to support them. That is why its important to treat people equally and to help demand justice. I hope that this world will learn to treat others with kindness it should not take hundreds of people to die to realize that what is going on is not okay in any way shape or form. One important thing is to make sure you are helping that is why attending peaceful protests or signing petitions or donating or even just using your voice is good. I believe that black lives matter and I hope that more people realize that too. https://www.dogonews.com/2020/6/3/americans-demand-justice-for-george-floyd

With corona virus going around the world schools will have to now stay closed for the rest of the year and will need to try online learning. But unfortunately some kids who may be homeless or who have very low incomes are unable to accesses the internet for school. This is a very easy way for kids to get behind but First books have made an effort to try and help the families in need. They are giving out free books to children in shelters and who just need alternative ways to get proper education. First books plan to hand out eight million books to kids, they have already made progress by giving out about 1.7 million books to students. My hope is that they reach their goal and that more kids will be able to get the education they need. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/23/neediest-cases/first-book-school-closed-coronavirus.html?searchResultPosition=2

Corona virus is very serious especially towards older people. Going outside now can risks some peoples lives. That is why a man named Greg has decided to help his community by offering to buy some peoples groceries. Now that his business has closed temporarily because of covid-19 he has had the time to start spreading kindness. Greg has even got his wife and kids to help him set up a whole routine for his good deeds. And not only does he help deliver groceries he also helps deliver news papers to his neighbours. I hope that more people will show kindness to others especially right now with everything that has been going on around the whole world. https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/new-jersey-man-has-made-over-500-shopping-trips-for-seniors/

A couple months ago a teen boy named Nabeel Alam and his 26 other classmates decided to start a company were they would collected old clothes that were unwearable to create new bags for people to use. They called this company Vivlio Amet. All of the fabric they use are old to help the environment become a better and cleaner place. They design all of their bags and have set up online stores so people can purchase from them all around the world during the coronavirus. They have created 3 types of bags to shop from ; a book bag which is only 8 dollars, a satchel that is 12 dollars and lastly a grocery bag that is also 12 dollars. In march they had sold about 50 bags to mostly friends and family but were hoping to find at least 50 more buyers by the end of April. And although this business only started in October for a project they closed their shop in April so it is no longer up for people to shop from. https://www.cbc.ca/kidsnews/post/biz-kids-teen-turns-clothes-headed-for-landfill-into-reusable-bags#article-start

Shipwreks in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea

The Eastern Mediterranean Sea was a very popular ancient shipping route. Many historians believed that there was multiple shipwrecks down there, although during about seven decades of trying to search for ships they couldn't find anything. Fortunately for us over time our technologies has gotten much better and on April 21, 2020 the ESP team revealed the discovery of a dozen ancient trading vessels in the Levantine Basin, the easternmost part of the Mediterranean Sea. The researchers even said the oldest shipwreck goes back to 2,200 years in the past! One of the many things they found was a couple religious objects which make us believe that when the ship sank they could have been praying. one of their best finds was a 43-meter-long trading vessel. They think it sank around the 1630s and inside were objects from 14 different cultures and villages. I find things from the ocean very interesting because its almost like a whole new world that still has so much to offer. I hope maybe one day I can find a job related to this or something similar!
https://www.dogonews.com/2020/5/9/ancient-shipwrecks-in-the-mediterranean-provide-insights-into-the-start-of-global-trade
