I know that it’s used in Islamic art a lot. My mom has Surahs of the Quran written in calligraphy as well. I think besides the pen and paper maybe you need some sort of outline?

I saw them in the Qatar National Library and the Museum of Islamic Arts in Qatar. I think a special type of pen and ink.
