Organic: Calcium carbonate precipitates out of water, and crystallizes between grains carbonate sediment. Layers of vegetation accumulate in swamps and coastal areas, they are compressed and bureid and lithified into coal.


Chemical:

Evaporite minerals such as calcite, halite, and gypsum. Formed moslty through the evaporation of water.

Non-folated: No preferential alignment for crystals. Marble for example is the metamorphized version of limestone, and its made of minerlas that dont elongate, no matter the pressure.
