Manners of Reading the Qur’an

• Perform ablution before reading

• Sit respectfully

• Use a miswak

• Pronounce every letter correctly

• Read calmly and not too fast

• Recite in a pleasant tone

• The presence of people who are "clothed yet naked," meaning their clothes are thin and tight, exposing the shape of their bodies.

Faith in Allah is the most important foundation of Islamic belief.

Evidence (Dalil):

a. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 163

"And your God is One God; there is no deity (worthy of worship) except Him, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful."

b. Surah Al-Ikhlas

"Say (O Muhammad): He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal Refuge (on Whom all depend). He neither begets nor is born, and there is none comparable to Him."

2. Belief in Angels

Angels are creations of Allah who were created to carry out His commands and fulfill various roles, such as recording deeds, delivering revelations, and glorifying Allah.

a. Surah Al-Infitar, verses 10–12

"And indeed, [appointed] over you are guardians (10), noble angels who record (your deeds) (11), they know whatever you do (12)."

All scriptures were revealed by Allah to His Messengers as guidance and wisdom for mankind.

a. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 136

"Say (O believers): We believe in Allah and in what has been revealed to us, and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus, and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him alone we submit."

b. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 3

"He has revealed to you the Book (the Qur’an) in truth, confirming what was revealed before it, and He sent down the Torah and the Gospel."

As Muslims, we must apply the teachings of the Qur’an in our daily lives through:

1) Conducting study

Studying the teachings of the Qur’an by understanding its principles, values, and guidance.

2) Integration in daily activities

For example, practicing courtesy, always communicating with others, and showing mutual respect.

That is, carrying out the teachings of the Book by performing acts of worship, doing good deeds, and serving others.

10. Kindness – respond to evil with good.

The world will end on an appointed day (al-Qiyamah).

All humans will be resurrected (al-Hashr) for judgement.

Every deed will be recorded and presented before Allah.

Successful ones enter Paradise, the condemned enter Hell.

Significance of Belief in the Hereafter

1. Universal teaching of prophets – all prophets commanded belief in it; denial = disbelief.

Effects of Belief in the Last Day

1. Shows the perfection and greatness of Allah’s Names and Attributes.

2. Increases love for meeting Allah – the greatest joy in Jannah is seeing Allah SWT.

1. Hadith about Adab

One of the sayings of the Prophet ﷺ that highlights the importance of adab:

“Indeed, I was only sent to perfect good character.”

From Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (RA):

He said: I asked the Prophet ﷺ: “Which deed is most beloved to Allah?” He replied: “Prayer at its proper time.” I asked: “Then what?” He said: “Being dutiful to one’s parents.” I asked: “Then what?” He said: “Striving in the way of Allah.”
