Working to develop an early alert system that attempts to leverage data and faculty feedback to catch these students as early as possible to get them to the appropriate resources to help them be successful

Right now, at this point in the semester, I'm not. I reached out to folks who were flagging earlier in the semester, and if they didn't reach out to me by now, I don't have the energy to keep going and going and going. (But if they do reach out, I' more than happy to work with them). I'm not proud of this, but it's where I am right now.

within the first several weeks taking a moment to meet with EACH student - sit eye to eye and just 'check in' - I think it helped pre-empt because they knew I cared individually about their success - framed it as I'm here to help you

It's been hard to get a good interactive vibe in one my classes (but not the other). Not sure if it's something I'm doing different, though.

snarky student who likes to 'correct' little meaningless info on a slide (intro class where sometimes you are giving generalities)..... finding a way to connect with them in a way that doesn't shut them down but also makes it clear that this approach is a bit ineffectual (annoying)
