Incident - My father almost died.

My father nearly died in September of 2020 and not because of Covid 19, due to having several arteries blocked by fat and his sugar levels were skyrocketing, requiring an open-heart surgery. For this, he was referred to Barranquilla so that the operation could be performed. I was distressed because he is the one who covers all the household needs, and that would probably mean that I wouldn't even be studying at a university right now.

Favorite Trip

This one is recent but my favotire trip so far (and the only one i've ever had in my whole life) is going to the beach for the first time, the name of the beach is "Playa Blanca", located at Baru, Cartagena. It was an invitation from an old acquantence that was trying to claim resources in a trip, i thought that my parents would dissagree, and i can't blame them, i barely go outside and they're not used to let me go that easily. A group of people were with me, some of them are responsible adults, but basically i went to the beach on my own and it felt somehow...relaxing, just taking a sit to see the waves, the gentle touch of the water and the delicious (expensive as hell) food.

At the end of 2022, i could enroll at the University of Cartagena in System's Engineering, at first i was afraid because i'm really bad at math, and eventually...i was right.

Frebruary of 2023, i finally started and i was overwhelmed, so many new stuff to learn and my classmates were able to understand almost everything...but i was just a lost soul, just trying to figure out what the hell the teachers are explaining.

I was on my own, and whenever i tried to ask for help i had the feeling that they just got annoyed of explaining too many times to a useless individual who can't do basic math like me.

I felt like a stupid that time, in the last block i just gave up and dropped everything, of course i didn't tell anyone but that was probably the lowest point in my whole life.

The happiest day of my life.

This one is rough, i don't really have many "happy", but if I had to describe one of those days, it would be when my father bought me my first Nintendo console, a Switch. I've always been a Nintendo consumer, but in ways that might not be as legal or well-regarded today, so having my own console meant a lot to me. I couldn't even sleep the day before; I was just eagerly awaiting the arrival of my console.

I remember it arrived on December 14th, 2020, shortly after my father's successful surgery. It was strange, but at the time, he asked me if I wanted something like that, and I told him to focus his money on his things, but he still gave me that whim, and to this day, I appreciate it very much.

At first, it only came with one game, Mario Kart 8, and I actually played a total of 120 hours because online play has to be paid for separately. To this day, I've sold some other games I bought over time for the arrival of "Tears of the Kingdom", which I believe is the best video game ever created to date.

Video games always bring me happiness in tough times, so I will always cherish these kinds of gifts with all my being."

Right at the beggining of 2021, i couldn't find any university to study, i tried to enroll myself at the University of Cartagena, unfortunely i didn't pass at the career i wanted to, so i took a gap year, trying to reinfoce the habilities i own, and English language has always been my strong suit since school, but I decided to reinforce and certify it at Colombo. Unfortunately, we didn't have the money to pay for in-person registration, so I had to do it virtually. I decided to take an exam to advance in some courses, and I managed to complete a total of 7 courses, almost half. It's a moment that filled me with satisfaction because it helped reduce a significant cost for my parents, and it gave me the confidence I needed to say, 'English is my path.

It was all thanks to my teacher "Jairo", back at my school days, he used to teach English in fun ways that i really liked, and in the end i wanted to do the same as him.

Certification - APTIS

After smoothly passing most of the courses at Colombo, I had to take a certain classification exam that I feared. Although I felt relieved to know it wasn't the Cambridge one, instead, I had to take one called "APTIS". I had to be there at 8 in the morning on January 19th, in the Historic Center of Cartagena, at Colombo's headquarters. I felt scared, although I was confident that I would at least achieve a B1 level. I felt it wouldn't be enough, but sooner or later, I had to go in to take the exam. At the moment of doing it, it didn't seem so complicated, until I had to write a formal letter, which is something I struggle with, but I managed to do it.

After all that pressure, I felt like I truly achieved a minimum of a B2 level, but what I didn't expect is that on Wednesday, February 8th, 2023, I would receive a different response: a C1 level. That made me happy, and I definitely decided to pursue the degree I am currently studying, Bachelor's in Foreign Languages with an emphasis on English. I felt very happy in that moment; it was definitely the push I needed to know what I really wanted to do with my life.

Graduating from HS

I'm not a fan of talking about this, to be honest, but I suppose it's necessary to fill the space. My graduation was somewhat... lackluster. Honestly, I don't even remember much else, just took my diploma and left that place. I was with my parents on December 7, 2021. I didn't even take a photo because I don't consider myself particularly photogenic, and honestly, I don't care much for commemorating dates like that.

All of this happened during the pandemic, and at a public school, so the 'auditorium' left much to be desired. While some people graduate in Cartagena, we had to do it right at the school because of the pandemic.

I felt very indifferent; I didn't even have friends there, so I really didn't care about leaving the hell that is school. But on the other hand, I felt happy because I would never return to that place

I'm not a fan of talking about this, to be honest, but I suppose it's necessary to fill the space.
