RZA also know as Robert Diggs has inspired me to think out of the box with sampling. To find unconventional sounds or movie clips and make them your own. RZA is constantly trying to learn and improve his skills, inspires me to do the same. Learning about his background and how he came to fame through the constant struggle and hardship he faced has inspired me to try my hardest at whatever i do and never give up and strive to be my best.

(loopcloud.com - inspired origins: the RZA 2019)

I have always wanted to revive a "dead" music genre back into mainstream media like punk rock and metal. The Offspring has beed credited along with other band in reviving punk rock in the 90s. Bringing back that "classic" rock sound to mainstream music has always been a dream of mine and would like to follow in The Offsprings footsteps many years ago.

Bruce Lee's "Enter the Dragon" had a massive inspiration on RZA. "the way Bruce Lee melded different styles of martial arts and other fighting styles with views from different philosophies"(Tinsley, 2020) RZA took great inspiration from Lee's creativity, fearlessness and his use of Eastern philosophies. Lee's movie also had partial inspiration on the group's debut album.

RZA speaks on how he infuses each one of his tracks with a spiritual body and soul, giving life to each song. RZA has drawn many life lessons and values from many religions such as Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity also mentions following of Allah.(Diggs, Norris, 2009) RZA encourages people to find their voice and stay true to them self.

The Adolescents influenced The Offspring with its fast, heavily distorted skate/surf rock. One of the "local" bands when they were growing up helped influence their sound and there for the genre. Kevin Wasserman briefly mentioned in an interview how The Adolescents inspired their taste in music. When comparing how each band sounds together they are very similar with the hard and fast power chord riffs and the very lazy vocals.

T.S.O.L is another local band for The Offspring. They have a very similar style to some of The Offspring's later albums in the 90's made up of the same simple power chords with similar chord structure. The Offspring drew inspiration from T.S.O.L intro with a simple but complex sounding riff or a "mini solo". Their positioning sounds pretty similar with the drums all the way in the back but having the snare ring out to the mid ground, the bass back there with the drums punching through occasionally, and guitar and vocals up front.

Isaac Hayes was a mentor to RZA and was there for him in his mothers passing. “When my mother passed away in 2000, I asked Isaac if he could he come to the funeral and do anything for me, just something to help uplift my family’s spirits." (Watson, 2008) Their friendship blossemed after the funeral. Hayes helled RZA out of a rut when he was feeling down about the world and his mum, he was always there for him.

The Offspring wanted to send a message and make people think about whats going on in the world. In another interview Dexter Holland says "I dont consider us a political band but we use our platform to get a message across."
