I'd say in person you would be closer with everyone instead of looking and communicating with them through a screen. You could form a bond between you and a teacher or discuss opinions about one with a friend in between classes. We had specific breaks to go to the bathroom and could only be released for a break to be free and socialize and eat food in a short period. Most classwork was physical (as in paper), and we'd be forced to stay in our seats and not say or do anything else until the bell rang. If we went against that we were disciplined and yelled at. Our days go by filled with mediocrity consisting of just getting out of bed, going to a different place in your bedroom, attend your online class, sit there for hours straight, do classwork, free time, sleep. Every day. Nothing that important to look forward to. You don't get a special bond with a teacher or wonder about which teachers hang out with which on lunch breaks when you're extremely bored; If they have cliques, do some of them actually prefer to eat alone as they do, observe during lunch, etc. (Sorry I'm going on about something random.) I look at my classmates and teachers and black boxes through a screen. Sitting in one place. You get up to eat, mostly when I'm bored. No school-related interactions between friends,  no physical activity, no school hobbies. More freedom.
