My brother busted his head open

It was 2021 at 9 pm cool night, it was very calm and relaxing. I was playing outside with my friend and my little brother. We were playing hide and seek at night and it was 4 of us. Me and my little brother were on a team vs 2 of my other friends and then we were playing for a little bit with my other 2 friends when they came outside so it was 6 of us. It was getting pretty late, probably around 10 PM. so 3 of my friends went inside and it was only me, my little brother and my friend. So we decided to go get some food at my friend's house then we went back inside.

Then we went to the park and were about to come back and my little brother is about 10 years old and we are running back to the house with my other friend because it's getting late then we are almost at my friends house. Then my friend went inside to go get something to eat and we were waiting outside for him to come back out so we were just joking around talking and we decided we were going to go scare my other friend when he came back out. My brother said “let's go up on his porch and scare him”. I thought it was a good idea just to be funny.

We are running on to his porch and we are running before he gets outside and I was running up the 4 concrete stairs to go up and I ran up there casually and my little brother is about to run up them he is laughing and says “this is going to be so funny” he went to skip one of the stairs to get up there fast. Then he slipped because he had no shoes on and he fell and hit the side of his stomach on the concrete porch. Then he bounced off and hit his head on the porch and then he was on the ground knocked out for 2 or 3 minutes. When he woke up he said “WHAT JUST HAPPENED”. I was in shock. I didn't get time to respond. So I ran inside because my friend wasn't done eating yet and I went to go get his attention and tell him then we came back out and he woke up and he was bleeding. He was also crying and had no idea what happened that day but at least he remembered our name and the day. But he didn't remember anything that happened and he asked us “can you all tell me what happened.”

we ran him back to my house and we showed my mom and my dad was not home so he had to come home from work. My dad took about 30 minutes to get home. It was bleeding really bad to where we had to go to hospital. Then we were sitting there for about 10 minutes then we went to the back and they got his information and it turns out he needed stitches. He had to get 10 stitches, also his stomach was cut up and he had to have a bandaid on it for 2 days. We had to sit there for about 2 hours and he was ok after stitches.

We went home and he went to sleep and woke up a little bit sore so he took some medicine and then a few days later he got the stitches out. Also at the doctor he had to get some medicine that would make his head or side not hurt. This is why you should slow down and be careful. But he was ok after all, just a little bit of swelling and blood. He got hit on the side of his head.

My name is Logan Compton and this is the start of my Narrative writing The time I spent with my great grandma 2010-2015

Exposition

This all started in the spring with the smell of flowers When I was a year old. My mom and dad would drop me off because they had to work at Walmart and Kroger in Shepherdsville. They would leave me with my Great Grandma who I called GG for short. We used to play all the time when making food, side note I just ate it. She would take me to Walmart close to Shepherdsville and buy me whatever I wanted. Most of the time when I was bored We would play hide and seek. I would hit my head on the table all the time. One time when I was three she took me to the store with my Aunt and she gave me a 3DS with Pokemon Y in it. I had so much fun playing, laughing and messing around. She was there for my first day of school and she walked me down to the bus stop.

Rising action

There were some bad thoughts. One time when I was in pain and she was asleep in her room. I could not get in so I started to bang on the door asking can you help me over and over. She did help me but it took a long time. There was another time where I hit my head hard and started to cry and she would comfort me. I was three and this is when I broke my leg in her house. My mom had to drive as fast as she could and I had to wear a cast for 2 months! She would start to cough all the time and I would help thinking she was sick. I would pat here on the back all the time.

Climax

Then it happened when I was just 5 years old she died in her sleep. I woke up to my mom and dad crying and then they broke the news to her and said I am sorry Logan she is gone and not coming back. I sat there crying. I cried and a day later we were at her funeral. I could not stop crying. My mom tried to comfort me by saying it’s okay while trying not to cry herself but you could hear sobbing in the back where we were. It took an hour to stop. When we got home everything was sad and gloomy. I didn't go to school for the next 3 days as I was too depressed to do anything. But then we were going through a drive view at the Shepervild Mcdonalds and told me something that shocked her to the core.It was how I knew how she died and that it was okay to lose someone important in your life but it will all be okay. Then you could hear a sherrrr sound when the car stop.

Falling action

I started to cry less and less over the day, mothes, and now 9 years ago. Now every day on her birthday we send a balloon up to the sky. This is a tradition we do almost every year. Every time I think of her I cry just a little and smile when remembering the good time with her and how she would take care of me. When in bad times I think of how she takes care of me and I would feel better and keep moving forward even in hard times I will always remember what you did for me even when I was wrong or bad you were there for me.

Conclusion

It was nice to talk about how I feel and the reason I did this was to say it’s okay to cry even when you lose someone, when someone dies, when someone breaks up with you it’s okay. Even if you think it is not, it's okay to cry now matter what people say. Sometimes you need to let it out. If you need to talk to someone about it, let others know how you really feel. If you need to take time out for yourself go do something fun. My lesson here is don’t let things get you down and let it out. Have you ever needed to do something?

The Drop

It was December 11th around when the sun was about to start setting, Kaycee and Bryan were arguing.¨ That's not fair Bryan I want to go with you¨ Kaycee said. ¨I don't care you're annoying and will just slow us down¨ Bryan yelled back. At first, he wouldn't let her, but with her mom's help, he reluctantly agreed. They grabbed their jackets and walked out the door. ¨ just stay out of my way and don't be annoying¨ he said quietly so their mom didn't hear.

Jayson and Junior were standing at the end of their road waiting for Bryan to join them, but were surprised to see a little 5th grader walking behind him. As they greeted each other and explained why Kaycee was with him today they walked down the road and started walking through the woods and walked through two properties into a steep tall hill. As they walked down the steeply inclined hill they reached a drop, if you dropped something off this drop you could count to 3 before it hit the ground. Waiting for them was an overhanging tree and a rope.

As they creep up to the rope Kaycee whispers to Bryan “This doesn't seem like a good idea¨ but Bryan doesn't pay her no mind as the older brother. As he watched Jayson grab the rope and leaped, everyone held their breath before he came swinging back unscathed. Then Junior goes then Bryan. As he grabbed the rope Kaycee pleaded with him not to go while his friends were using peer pressure.¨you need to go now we already went, are you scared, try to do a cool trick¨, so as He leaps off the ledge. he slows down and his hands loosen and in a matter of seconds, he goes from showing off to his friends to falling 100ft into a rocky creekbed. As Kaycee is watching with his two friends completely speechless as was she. Bryan's body hit the ground face first followed by a loud thud. He lay there still as a corpse, all Kaycee could feel was fear and anger. It felt like hours for everyone as they ran down to the creekbed as fast as possible. Once they finally got down to the creek they all looked at Bryan lifelessly facing down in an inch of water and rocks. As Kycee is standing there hoping he's okay all that fills the silence is the occasional stream water flow noise over all their heartbeats beating heart.

Finally, Jayson speaks up and says we got to do something. So they agree that they need to set him up and out of the water while someone gets help.

So as Kaycee ran her little legs up the steep hill and around a mile back home to get her mom, they picked up Bryan so he didn't drown as he was barely conscious. She finally gets home to find her mom on the phone making dinner. So she is trying to get her mom she says wait I'm on the phone. After what felt like hours of waiting for her mom to notice she was having an emergency she asks “What do you want” She then explodes in a mix of words “I need help, Bryan is dead” In a matter of 10 seconds, she runs outside grabbed her dad and jumped in the truck to go find Bryan.

kaycee watched her mom and dad race to the creek she just stood there frozen and crying hoping her brother was okay. He was rushed to the hospital and was looking at the emergency room for roughly 2 weeks. My mom told me this after giving in to peer pressure. Don't make the same mistake my uncle did 20 years ago. Don't listen to peer pressure it gets you hurt and in trouble.

CHAP 1

Mykah could hardly wait for his fifth birthday. He counted the days, dreaming of cake, balloons, and all his favorite people. On the night before his big day, he hugged his stuffed dinosaur, Spike, and whispered, “Tomorrow’s going to be amazing!”

CHAP 2

When Mykah woke up, the house was filled with decorations and the delicious smell of pancakes. His family shouted, “Happy Birthday!” as he entered the kitchen, eyes wide at the sight of a dinosaur-themed cake. His friends arrived for a day packed with games and laughter. They played “Pin the Tail on the Dinosaur” and had a treasure hunt in the backyard. When it was time for cake, Mykah made a wish and blew out the candles, feeling like the happiest boy in the world.

CHAP 3

After the party, Mykah opened presents, thrilled with each surprise—a shiny new bike, books, and his favorite dinosaur action figure. As the sun set, he snuggled with his family under twinkling lights, sharing stories and laughter. “This was the best birthday ever,” he said sleepily. With dreams of dinosaurs and adventures, Mykah fell asleep, knowing this was just the beginning of being five.

CHAP 4

The next morning, Mykah woke up to sunlight streaming through his window. He jumped out of bed, excited to ride his new bike. With Spike tucked under his arm, he dashed outside. His dad helped him with the bike, adjusting the training wheels. “Ready, buddy?” his dad asked, and with a nod, Mykah climbed on. At first, he wobbled, but soon he was pedaling down the driveway, laughter bubbling up as he raced down the street. “I’m a dinosaur on a bike!” he shouted, imagining he was flying through a prehistoric jungle.

CHAP 5

As the days passed, Mykah explored his neighborhood on his new bike, discovering hidden trails and secret spots. One day, he found a little park with a sandbox and swings. He made friends withother kids who loved dinosaurs too. They played together, building dino castles in the sand and pretending to be explorers. Mykah felt like the luckiest boy. He was growing up, and every day brought a new adventure. “What will I discover tomorrow?” he wondered, looking forward to all the fun that being five would bring.

Overlooked and Over Achieved

My mother, a hard-working woman, always taught me that I could do anything I wanted, regardless of what anyone said. I watched my sister do track in middle school and knew that when I got to 6th grade; I wanted to do it as well. I ended up doing discus and shot put, but I was quite bad at it, and most people didn’t take me seriously because I was a beginner. However, I practiced more and got 3rd place in districts in my 6th grade year of middle school.

In 7th grade, I started to make a name for myself in track and field. Despite being one of the few girls on the team and the only girl doing field instead of track, it didn’t matter to me. At each meet, I proved myself more and got 2nd place in the county, holding 3 records. By this point, track and field were my happiness and passion.

Confidently, I came back in 8th grade, but upon learning that my coach had left, I experienced a lack of direction. In my first couple of track meets that season, I realized I wasn’t doing as well, and I felt like I had regressed. I knew I needed help. In hopes of finding myself again, my coach assigned an upperclassman to help me when she realized I was struggling.

However, the complete opposite happened. I felt degraded during every practice with him and almost scared to speak to anyone, especially him. At a certain point, I started to stand up for myself, but it was hard with him not only being my “coach” but also being older and a man. I hoped that he would mature and at least respect me, but I was let down when that didn’t occur.

On a gloomy April day, I had hoped that he had reflected and changed his heart, but sadly, as expected, he didn’t. After practice, I was physically and mentally done. When practice was over I ran to my mom's car holding in tears of embarrassment, and fear. “Mom, I can’t do this.”, I said looking at her sincerely, “Lola, nothing worth doing will ever be easy”, she replied. Her words affected me more than she could ever know, not only was what she said was through but she had to live by that her whole life to get to where she was. From then on, I changed the way I looked at the situation. At each meet, I got in the top 3 proving myself more, but what mattered was the district meet.

Nervously, I faced the district meet, which was not only my last middle school track meet, but also my mom’s birthday, and the final chance to break both my personal and school records. As I got to the track that morning, I saw him, the person who made me feel unworthy and hated me constantly for being different. As I sat near where I competed, he came over and started cleaning. I offered a smile, but he didn’t respond positively. When the track meet was about to

begin, he turned to me and said, “I’m not your coach today. I’m an athlete. Do whatever you want.” Despite the rude tone in his voice, I muttered, “Okay,” as he walked away, and I felt free. Knowing I had conquered my biggest problem, I felt ready to prove myself.

When I was up to throw, I tried to clear my mind, and as soon as I looked up after my first throw, I knew I had done it. Hearing my family cheer filled me with the reassurance and joy I needed. When I was done, I discovered I had made 2nd place, hitting my record by 4 feet. Maybe it wasn’t first place, but it was a victory in my eyes.

That day and the next, I received many congratulations from people on my team, family, and coaches, making me very happy and even more proud of myself. Even though my student coach didn’t say a good job to me for completing my goal, he had never before so luckily it didn't affect me.

As of today, I go to the same school as him and many other people who judged me for my passion. Sometimes it’s awkward seeing him in the hallways, but at least I know I proved him wrong. Maybe I’m different, but at least my differences make me better.

When I was thirteen years old, I went to my dad and asked him if he could help me build my first computer. I had always wanted to build one, so I could play games while having good gameplay. My dad said sure because he wanted to spend time with me, even though none of us knew what we were doing. So after we decided we were going to do this, we had to get all of the parts together, so we could easily obtain them when we needed them. It has been a few days now, after we have got everything ready, we have started looking up videos on how to set the parts up in the right place. We had the fans on the computer, and we were working on getting the motherboard in. We were almost finished

After days of building, staying up late nights, and watching several videos, we decided to take a break because we didn't have a part for the computer, and couldn't continue forward. “But why dad? We're so close to getting this done ""I know Chris, but we have to stop until we get this part, then we can continue with building. I knew it was going to be a long break from building, all I wanted to do was to play games with good gameplay, and I wanted it fast, but I guess the wait was needed.

“Finally it came!” I said with excitement. I was so ready for my dad to get home so we could finish this up and so I could get what I have been waiting so long for. Now all I had to do was wait for him to get home right? Wrong. After dad got home, he was super tired from work “Sorry son, but i'm way too tired to do anything with the computer tonight” I was not mad, but I was sad, all this time i've been waiting to do this, and i've got to wait longer!

3 days have passed, it's the weekend now, my dad doesn't have work, and he is well rested from his sleep from last night. “Hey son, let's finish up your computer tonight” I was so happy, “okay i'll go get the stuff ready for tonight!”. My dad and I started to build the computer. We spend 3 hours fixing awesome stuff on the computer and putting parts in and on the computer. After it gets to the late night, we still have a couple parts to put left on the computer. “Son I think it's time to call it a night” I was so annoyed, all I wanted was to get this done at this point. I didn't even care about playing games or making it look cool in my room, I just wanted to get this project done.

This is the day we start in the early morning. We have all day to finish this project, if we don't, I don't want to do this project anymore. A couple hours passed, piece by piece, part by part. We put the last part in and we get it close to the wall to plug it up. This is what I've been waiting for the whole time. We go to plug it in. No lights. What did we do wrong, everything was perfect and we took so little time for everything. But it still wasn't good enough, we did something wrong.

We take the computer to a computer store to try and figure it out. Hours pass and we wait for my computer to get out of the shop, and it finally gets TURNED ON?!?! I'm super excited and they tell us it was a plug that was wrongfully plugged in. I am so excited, I go home and play my games. This is everything I have wanted, and what I have been waiting for for so long. I hop on fortnite, and I play with my friends all night getting win after win, “this is great” I said while turning my computer off in the late night, then I rest my head and go to sleep

It was a sunny summer day in Michigan in 1987 when my grandparents bought my mom her first car. It was a yellow 1977 Mercury Monarch that happened to be a stick shift. My mom was excited to start driving for the first time. She wanted to practice before she got her driver's license but there was a problem, she didn't know how to drive a stick shift. It was a Saturday morning when my mom decided to ask my grandma to teach her how to drive the new car and also teach her how to use the stick shift. My grandma got up from her bed “ It’s going to be a lot of practice, but I will teach you how to drive,” my grandma told my mom. My mom and grandma then walked outside and my grandma got in the driver's seat. My mom was feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness as they both got in the car. My grandma pushed the pedal down and wiggled the gear stick from side to side then turned the key, she then explained, “This means the car is in neutral”, and the pedal on the floor is the clutch. When she said that my mom was confused by what those words meant, so she just shook her head and pretended like she knew what my grandma was saying. My grandma then pushed the gear shift to the right and then down to go in reverse and slowly lifted her foot off the clutch and put her right foot on the gas at the same time. My mom and grandma backed out of the driveway and onto the dirt road. My grandma then put her foot back on the clutch and on the brake moved the stick up and all the way to the left and up again, and said “Now we are in first gear”.She then repeated the process of releasing the clutch moving the stick and giving the car gas until she moved through all four gears and they were moving smoothly down the road.

As my grandma pulled over on the side of the road it was now time for my mom to drive. My mom felt very nervous as she got out of the car and moved to the driver's seat. My mom thought she could do it as she watched my grandma's every move, but as she started the car and tried to go forward, all it would do was jerk and sputter. My mom tried to push the clutch in to keep the car running but it kept stalling. As the car kept stalling my mom got more and more frustrated and all my grandma could do was laugh at my mom. After about an hour, my mom got my grandma to take her home and get my grandpa to teach her how to drive the car. My grandpa had a lot more patience than my grandma and wouldn’t laugh and make fun of my mom like my grandma did. As my grandpa got into the driver's seat and my mom back into the car, my grandpa explained what each of the pedals were and how they worked. He also explained how to work the stick shift. My grandpa started to drive very slowly at first, explaining everything he was doing in detail. After a few minutes, he let my mom start driving and he said “Just take it slow, focus, and be calm and you’ll get it in no time”. After my mom finally started to calm down, she switched places with my grandpa. Being in the driver's seat again, he told my mom when to shift and when to press the clutch. After about fifteen minutes, my mom started to get to hang of driving with the stick shift. My grandpa then said, “See, with a little practice and patience I knew you would get it you just have to take it slow and stay calm”. That’s what can happen when you set your mind to something. You can always achieve your goal, no matter what.

My first time flying to miami. We woke up pretty early and left for the airport. Once we got to the airport We got our tickets. Then we went to tsa. We got through a problem then we went to sit and wait for our flight. It was not yet there so we waited and waited and then it arrived. Once it arrived they started calling groups and we were one of the last groups. Once we got called we weighed our stuff and then we boarded the plane. Once we boarded the plane we found our seats. I sat by the window. Once we sat we waited for the plane to take off and once we started moving we waited on the runway. Once they said we could go we got on the runway and it started going fast. It was very fast but we started to go up. And up some more. There was this feeling we were gonna fall out of the sky. Your heart felt like it was going to fall through your belly. But once we got in the air we were smooth flying. But then we went over the water. It looked amazing and we saw another plane in the air flying the same way. It was pretty cool. But once we saw land it looked amazing and we were going in for the landing. But we went through the clouds and it shook a lot. But then we where about to land and we sped up and landed on the runway. And then we went to dock. Once we did we all got up and got off the plane. Then we went and went outside to go to our car.

The sun hung low in the sky, casting golden rays over the winding dirt trails that crisscrossed the hills. Jake had always felt alive when he was on his dirt bike, the roar of the engine echoing his adventurous spirit. Today, he pushed himself harder than ever, weaving through trees and leaping over bumps, each ride a testament to his growing confidence. But with every thrill came a whisper of caution he’d learned to ignore, a voice warning him that reckless abandon could lead to reckoning.

As Jake approached a particularly steep incline, the adrenaline surged within him. He had always loved the challenge, the way the world seemed to pause as he climbed. But this time, the terrain was more treacherous than he anticipated. He hit the incline at full speed, feeling the weight of the bike shift beneath him. Just as he reached the crest, he spotted a hidden rut—a mistake that could cost him dearly. In an instant, his heart dropped. The bike bucked violently, and he lost control.

The world spun as he flew through the air, the ground rushing up to meet him. Time stretched, and in those fleeting moments, Jake's mind raced with regrets. He thought of his friends, his family, and the countless times he had ignored their warnings about riding too recklessly. The impact was jarring, pain exploding through his body as he landed hard. The bike clattered to the side, silent now, its power extinguished in an instant. Jake lay there, breathless and broken, the thrill of freedom replaced by the weight of his choices.

As he struggled to sit up, the reality of the crash sank in. His leg throbbed, and the forest around him felt eerily still. The thrill he had chased now felt hollow, a stark reminder of how fleeting and fragile life could be. In the quiet that followed, he could hear his own heartbeat and the distant rustle of leaves. It was a moment of reckoning, a realization that pushing limits without regard for safety could lead to devastating consequences. He was alone, but the echoes of his reckless bravado haunted him, urging him to reevaluate his relationship with danger.

Eventually, he managed to drag himself to his feet, his leg weak but resolute. The bike lay nearby, a symbol of both his freedom and his folly. As he limped away, he knew he had a long road to recovery ahead—not just physically, but emotionally. The thrill of the ride would always be part of him, but he understood now that true freedom came with responsibility. He vowed to honor his passion with a newfound respect, knowing that the real adventure lay not in reckless speed, but in the wisdom gained from a hard lesson learned.

I Broke Someone's Arm

Football is a very common sport in the United States, it is shown around the world and has gathered hundreds of fans. With strange and hard to follow rules such as holding, roughing the passer, pass interference, or hitting after the play. I actually did one of these and broke someone's arm, this has affected my life and helped me to this day in football and even life. It made me realize how dangerous the sport is and how easy it is to get an injury. It caused me to see the way one of these injuries could cause someone to be out of their game for a long time.

I started playing football when I was 5 years old. I worked as hard as I could, no matter what got in my way. When I was in 5th grade, I joined the Shepherdsville Titans. It was a little league team in the area, one of many. One sunny but muddy day, I played in a game against the Mt.Washington Colts at GBCYFL in Shepherdsville, Ky 40165. This is where the story happened. The Shepherdsville Titans, which was the team I was on at the time and the Mt.Washington colts started the game. I started the game with a good number of tackles and the other team talked about the sacks I made.

During the game, I started to talk to someone I knew through my mom. Our parents were friends so it caused me to know him pretty well. Even though we were on different teams, we still tried to talk to each other as much as we could. Then I went to get another tackle and it was a dead ball, which means the ball hit the ground. As I heard the whistle blow, I knew the play was over. I hit the dude that was running the ball for the Mt.Washington colts and broke his arm, who happened to be the friend I talked to earlier in the game.

I felt really bad for him, I knew this would stop him from playing football. After I broke his arm, I said sorry and the trainer came out after he was on the ground for a while crying. Then he got up and the crowd started clapping for him. After I broke his arm the league suspended me from playing for the next 2 games because it was a late hit. I was really bored for the next two games but my team made me go to the games that I did not play. I was really mad because I really loved playing football.

After that game, my moms friend and my mom got closer actually. My moms friend's son is also hurt now. He plays for Bullitt East and he caught a pass and ran for a touchdown. Then after the game he said his leg hurts really bad and he went to the hospital. He ended up with a permanent leg injury that didn’t end up taking him out of the season at the time but might end up taking him out in the future.

The moral of this story is to know when to stop because I have never known when to stop but after that story I learned. Even after that i didn't really know how to stop but that year i've done stuff that has got me in trouble for not stopping so I now really know when to stop. Everything went back to normal and our families have gotten closer so he's a close friend now.
