In this padlet I will be discussing the genre of lesson planning. I will explain the ways that it is distributed into the proper community, with examples of the genre. Exigence, constraints, audience, and context (rhetor) of a lesson plan will also be shown.

Lesson plans are a genre intended for the writer, not so much the reader. However, teachers can share lesson plans amongst themselves to help other teachers get an idea of what they should do for their classroom. This can be done either virtually through email or maybe the teacher just put it on a website of some sort for others to view.

A lesson plan is an outline created by teachers to guide them through facilitating a lesson. A lesson plan typically has a main goal (what is to be taught and learned), how the goal will be achieved, and a way to measure how well the goal was achieved (which is usually shown through assignments or testing).

Once the lesson plan has been started in the classroom, the teacher can look at it through out the lesson plan to stay on task. The teacher can always make adjustments to the plan as well.

The matter and motivation for creating a lesson plan is so that the teacher can stay on task when teaching the lesson in order to reach the learning goal. Without a lesson plan it can be difficult to successfully carry out the teaching procedure. Overall, lesson plans are essential for teachers to provide their students with the necessary structure and direction to receive a relevant and engaging education.

Some constraints for lesson planning are:
- Curriculum
- The amount of time to prepare
- Selecting appropriate learning materials
- Time needed to complete the lesson

Teachers are given a curriculum that they must follow to ensure that students are receiving a rigorous and effective education across schools. When creating the lesson plan, teacher must ensure that they will have all of the needed materials for students to complete the assignment set in place. Depending on how much time the teacher has to spend on making the lesson plan can determine how smoothly the lesson will go.

In class time, it is very possible that the lesson plan will not happen in the time expected. For tedious projects teachers should plan for students to take more or less time. Sometimes there are even just too many questions that derail the class, which leaves some of the lesson plan unfinished for the day.

The audience is the teacher, who made the lesson plan. The lesson plan is made by the teacher as a guide to help them through reaching their goal for the overall lesson. The lesson plan is not distributed to any of the student, even though they are going through the objectives of it. Lesson plans could however, be distributed to principals or heads of the department.

Lesson plans are essential to a successful class period. Teachers are given the criteria they must cover, then are expected to create a lesson plan in a timely manner that they will be able to follow and carry out successfully. The lesson plan will not be carried out smoothly if the teacher did not have much time to prepare. That includes having the correct materials for the students.
