Because they will not listen to you, busy in making noises sometimes they were neither aware of topics nor chapters. So, I must say I have the capability to make them listen to me and always made sure they would not fail on my subjects.

I think firstly I am a good listener and a problem solver too. I've had experience tutoring my brother, when he was 11 years old. He initially didn't pay much attention to me. I then gave him gifts and told him I would only play with him if he finished his homework and prepared for the test. I made him to study and do his schoolwork.

I'm a nice person, which is a quality I have in the field of developmental services. I connect with people quickly and am able to interact with them, allowing them to discuss their issues and concerns with me. I can empathise with them and help them through their particular difficulties, which is essential in the field of developmental services. Patience is another one of my stronger traits, and I can use it well in the field of developmental services.

One quality I have is patience. It is relatively easy for me to give the extra time and space necessary to allow people to sort through their understanding of something until they’ve learned it.

Hello! My name is Queenazscor Clarito (Queena)- Student #: 1143242

I have much experience in teaching. During college, I mentored students in our church, introducing Jesus to them, and I also teach at Sunday school at church. I am using a passage in the bible, the story of Jonah, for example; using visuals in my teaching experience has been a great aid, especially for toddlers. Their attention span is short; therefore, the only challenge I face is to deliver my teaching within a 5-minute time frame. After that, I teach them crafts, which they enjoy most during Sunday. I also teach photography to my fellow Filipinos in Dubai. I teach them basic photography and how to use a camera in manual mode. It was easy for me to teach before coming to Canada because there was no language barrier.

Being good with technology is one of my
skills. I can assist them in posting photos on their social media accounts.
Based on my experience working in the field for about three months, I can share
my social media and technology knowledge with those I support. Sometimes, they
go for a day trip in Grand Bend, and then they let me post those photos for them.
Being patient is also one of my character traits. In DSW, it is essential to be patient at all times. Waiting for them to finish eating or even feeding them requires patience.
Being creative and sometimes thinking outside the box is another one of my skills. I believe this is valuable in my role. I
believe the ability to adapt and come up with creative ways to teach is essential, especially when you want to provide the best possible way to support them. My creativity can help in designing personalized lesson plans for them.
Instead of relying solely on conventional methods, I can take the time to get
to know each individual's unique strengths, interests, and needs. This will allow
me to create lessons that are not only effective but also engaging and
enjoyable for them. I can also include arts and crafts in our lessons, encouraging them to express themselves and learn new skills through creative projects. This not only promotes self-expression but also enhances their fine motor skills and cognitive abilities.

Hello, my name is Faiza Arif
Student number: 1141971

I am a mother of three beautiful children and my teaching experience started as soon as I held my first born in my hands for the first time. I have three different experiences with all three of them doing the same sort of activities which clearly tells us that every individual has different personality. So, I have observed that don’t expect the same outcome from different individuals when teaching them. I taught my daughter how to cook and bake but at the same time I gave her the space and freedom to explore the flavours according to her own style. That teaching approach has given her the confidence she needs. I had great time teaching them how to read using phonics and memorising spellings and rhyming words with singing. Exploring fun activities is a more effective and efficient way of learning.

One quality I have is listening. As a DSW, listening is the key to built trust with each other because it shows that they are being valued. Fostering independence in people we support by listening and providing relevant solutions according to their individual need is an important part of teaching and learning.

Also, I respect diversity and cultural competence. As a DSW, it is important to understand cultures, languages and respect the traditions and differences of people we support. When teaching, we should aim to break down the cultural barriers that get in the way of learning benefit and productivity. I would like to know their individual interests, strength, and preferences. This will allow me to celebrate their festivals and traditions by doing fun activities to make them feel values.

I understood the limitations that some of the people I helped and never lost my cool when rocky situations arose, I was patient with the students as I knew that they were doing their best and I was there to help them achieve their goals. My understanding shone through in the same environment when a student kept knocking things over, their condition caused occasional muscle spasms, so I wasn't frustrated, even if they knocked paint onto my jorts, which they did, and then we laughed about it because hey, accidents happen and admittedly it was funny.

Student# 1156801

When i saw it reminds me of one of my friend in my high school, who didn't know how to ride a bicycle. I found him looking at me with while i was going to school always riding the cycle. He came to me and asked for help to teach him riding the cycle. I was very happy to teach him , but struggled a lot to get him with proper balancing on two wheels. First , it was very hard and then he got the technique of riding properly as i supported and cheered him to ride with confidence. Eventually, i saw him riding his own bicycle smoothly, which made me feel happier and proud.

Two qualities which i possess , that i think can contribute towards my teaching skill would be Patience and High observation skill. Both of these qualities helped me throughout my life , especially while i mentor or teaches someone. My patience helps me to give others appropriate time to learn and understand the topics that i have taught . Moreover. when someone asks me to repeat the topic, i can tell them more slowly and clearly. So that each and everyone gets to understand the topic quickly and effectively. My Observation skills also helped me a lot in identifying the minute changes while teaching the people with non verbal communication. Having good observation skills helps me to understand whether the topic is clearly delivered, by observing their actions and facial expressions.

Hai everyone, My name is Sharlett Mariya. Student # 1118148

One of my teaching experience that I always remember is when I taught my younger sister how to cook egg roast. She likes cooking but my mother never allowed her to cook by herself because mother thinks that she is too young to manage the kitchen alone. One day she came to me and asked me to teach her how to prepare egg roast. I was little nervous because my mother is not at home. If mom knows this she will be mad at me. But seeing my sisters interest in cooking I decided to teach her some basics in cooking. Later I started to teach her the recipe and I was wondering how fast she is catching up everything. She is trying to do everything by herself. And finally we made the roast. Two days later she made the egg roast by herself without anyone's help. I was very happy and proud by seeing her and I thought my mother will get mad at me but surprisingly she was very happy seeing this.

In the field of developmental services, two qualities that I have is patience and I am a good listener.

Hello everyone!
My self Jagroop Singh. My student No is 1154953. I am from India, currently living in London. I have completed my Senior secondary education in the medical field from back home. My hobbies are playing football, reading books and writing.
2. Teaching Experience
I have one younger brother, I have one teaching experience with him, He is 5 years old. He goes to Play-way school. I taught him to learn to count. Firstly I started with the dots to make writing numbers in the notebook easy. There are many counting songs and nursery rhymes that make learning to count fun. Classics like "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe" or "Five Little Ducks", Sing these songs together and use my fingers to illustrate the counting. By using this method he learned the counting easily. I showed him Picture books with colorful illustrations and counting themes as they are a great way to introduce counting to young children. These books often feature objects, animals, or characters that children can count along with as they read. This was a great experience and I feel grateful after teaching him counting as he enjoyed the way I taught him.
3. Two Qualities you have that you can use when teaching in the developmental service field?
In the developmental service field, which involves working with individuals with developmental disabilities, two important qualities that a person can use when teaching are:
1. Empathy: The capacity for empathy is the capacity to comprehend and share the emotions and viewpoints of another. Due to their developmental disabilities, those who work in the developmental services sector frequently face particular difficulties and requirements. For teachers and service providers to genuinely comprehend these people's experiences, disappointments, and goals, they must be able to empathize with them.
2. Patience: The ability to be patient is essential when interacting with people who have developmental difficulties. Some people learn and advance at a slower rate, and they could run into challenges that take more time and support to solve. Teachers in this subject area must maintain their composure and understanding while giving repeated explanations, encouragement, and reinforcement as necessary. It takes patience to create a low-stress learning atmosphere where people may feel secure and at ease as they acquire new knowledge and abilities.

Hi everyone, my name is Benjamin Paul, My Student id is 1119356

Here I would like to share one of my teaching experiences that I have done. I am good at playing basketball and I also achieved a lot of rewards in that game in my career. One day, a child from my neighborhood was trying to play basketball and I saw that he was facing difficulty in playing also I noticed that he had a good determination to learn, and I felt that if I helped him to teach the movements and ball control it will help him to find success. So, I teach him some basic movements. The very next day when I was walking in front of my school grounds he was playing with his friend, and I was surprised because he was using the movement which I thought, and it was a wonderful experience for me.

Two qualities that I contribute to my teaching skills are communication and patience. In my point of view, patience has an important role in a teaching career because when we communicate with a person with a disability this skill helps me to understand their problems and helps me to interact with them. The second skill is communication skill which I believe is one of the key roles that helps me to improve my teaching skills because good communication is the best method to understand others' feelings and express our thoughts with others.

Hello everyone,

My name is Noyal Benny (Student ID: 1156298). You guys can call me Noyal. I’m originally from southern part of India known as Kerala.

There have been many times in my life when I have enjoyed teaching others, but one of my favourite instances was when I first moved to Canada in December 2023. I was very excited about living there, and after a few days, I showed my friend some simple basic cooking techniques because he had no idea how to prepare food for himself. His other friends tease him because, he doesn’t know how to cook, and no one gave him assistance or advice. I gave him some advice on how to prepare food without hurting himself at the time, as well as instructions on how to use the tools and what items he would need to make breakfast. He learns that's the task to be done after a few days of instruction. I was extremely happy and proud of myself at that point since I had effectively taught him those lessons, and he had done so.

As a DSW worker, the most important thing is better understanding. We must figure out the different methods and ways to support people with special needs. So, I think understanding is a very important thing in the field of support work. Kindness is also a very important ability because we should be kind to others. They are facing many unusual problems in their lives, so as DSW workers, we have to show kindness and respect to them.

Hi, I’m Geethu Susan Albert, Yall can call me Susan. (Student id 1156870)
I've had a couple of teaching experiences that have genuinely taught me a lot. I've told children tales and taught them music at my Sunday school. Basically, if we teach them with visuals or songs or in a creative manner, kids grasp things quickly.
I was once requested to take class for 3rd graders. I was nervous since I had no idea what to teach them and it was an online class. I introduced them to the cup song, which they all were so interested in learning. But each of them was taught differently. Few picked up the song easily whereas others took time to learn them.
As a DSW it is important to understand one's learning capability, interests, requirements, strengths, etc. In this way, we could teach others in an effective way according to their needs.

Hi everyone,
My name is Nikhitha Mariya Thomas and my student ID is 1150975. I was born and brought up in the southern part of India known as Kerala.

I have had a variety of teaching experiences throughout my life in my native country, one of which was when, after completing my higher secondary education and while I was about to move to Canada, I offered tuition for students in lower grades in order to assist them with learning their weak subjects. I've taught them whatever I know about those subjects and provided them with mini-tests to help them prepare for their exams. I also provided some of my tips on studying for examinations, memorizing the material, and managing time effectively. Those were the times when I truly understood every teacher's struggle. When those students called me after their examinations and said that the tests were easy, I felt extremely proud of myself. The joy on those children's and their parent's faces, when they received favorable exam results was truly an honor and blessing in my life.

Patience and empathy are two qualities I possess that I could use when instructing in the field of developmental services. As a DSW, this allows me to understand the needs of people who I support and can provide them with emotional support. In this field, I have to interact with individuals who have various developmental challenges that progress at different rates. I can thus provide each of them with the support and encouragement they require by being patient and empathic. This quality can help me build trust with the people I support, increasing the possibility that they will be willing to listen to me and allow me to effectively advocate on their behalf.

Hey all , first let me share a little bit about myself . I'm Esabell Rose, and I'm orginally from the southern part of India. I moved to Canada on last September with lot of enthusiasm and ambitions in my heart.

I played a variety of roles and had numerous opportunities to teach myself and others depending on the situation .As an older sister to my younger sister, I was her mentor, guide, and so on . In my birth place , I was also taking taking classes for children along with my mother. My most memorable teaching experience was when I worked as part-time care attendant in the Dementia section a few months ago. Every person who lived there had a distinct and individual personality. One day, I was instructed to include one of the residents in any kind of activity. Even though I grabbed the opportunity to get her involved in drawing, she was always argumentative and had a low attention span . I approached her gently and calmly, tried to make her comfortable , and taught her step by step, allowing her plenty of time to grasp. It took a few days but she eventually began to draw on her own. She took a nice approach and began to participate in activities with me and the other residents. That was very proud moment for me because a small effort of mine resulted in small impact in someone's life.

Empathy and patience is an essential skill I posses that I could put to use as a Developmental service worker. When dealing with individuals , It is usual for them to improve at different paces. Patience and empathy enable me to fully understand their issues, and provide an effective support and also build a quality trust among the individuals.

Hi everyone,
My name is Sandeep Kaur. My student ID is 1150775. Basically, I am from India. Now, I am living in London Ontario.

I am feeling happy that I get an opportunity to share my teaching experiences with you. Honestly speaking, I was good in my studies. I passed my each classes with good scores. I gave tuition classes to students when I was at home. Sometimes, students felt hesitation to ask any questions to their teachers but I was their friend and all students cleared their doubts at the moment if they any. I helped all students to get Highest scores in their studies. All students were very hardworking. They always respect me. I also taught them some moral values instead of their studies. I had great bond with my students. After the end of the week, I organized a big test for students which I have already taught them so that they can revise. After that, I gave them rewards also who got good scores in the test just for enhancing their confidence level.

Now, I am going to share two qualities that I have and I can use in the developmental field to teach someone. I can say I have good communication skills and tolerance. According to me, having an good communication skills, helps to talk with others in a polite way. I know, in this field, we should need good communication skills so that we can understand what exactly people want who have developmental disabilities. Secondly, patience or tolerance is very very crucial because people with developmental disabilities, they take time to understand some things then I will have to repeat again and again. Patience helps to maintain calm and supportive behavior even in the difficult situations for both educators and caregivers.

Roobie Mumthas Pathayapurakkal Ali student#1149050
Basically, I am an Indian citizen and now staying in Canada as a student.
Teaching is something we do everyday, much like showing someone how to walk. I have always enjoyed even sharing a little information to others since it makes me feel good to do it. I have recently had a lot of experiences and am currently residing with my niece, who is only one and a half years old, in Canada. therefore, its always an excellent day for me to teach her new phrases, dance moves, eating skills, and other stuffs. Last week, I taught her the distinction between hot and cold along with those phrases in our own language. it feels so lovely to hear these from her now and to be proud of such simple things.
I think patience is the first and foremost thing we need as a DSW. If I am working with a person with disability who struggles with communication and social interaction. There, I can apply patience by giving more time for them to process information and respond.
The second quality is adaptability. People working in this always need to adapt to the situations and persons and their character. Otherwise, it is really hard for us to stay in this field. Furthermore, I have some other basic skills like cooking, cleaning and how to do it simply. I can teach about these too.
