I felt embarrassed while doing these 2 actions as the thought of onlookers watching what I was doing was unsettling. However, I was curious to see what people's reactions would be when they saw me doing strange stuff, which is why I managed to gather some courage to carry out the actions. I was not able to get much response for the first action, but as for the second one, I danced in front of an NP alumni's parents, and they turned out to be really supportive, cheering me on for being able to approach them despite them being strangers. I felt really embarrassed and anxious to ask for an autograph from a stranger. I have never really done something like that before. Initially, she was hesitant to give me her autograph. But as I explained my situation she was willing to sign the autograph. The lady to whom I got the autograph was very perplexed by my behavior

Violating social norms would result in a poor reputation for NP because we are Ngee Ann Poly students, thus we should act in a way that embodies Ngee Ann's values. Violations of social norms may lead to broad criticism of our school and its students.

I felt quite uneasy and slightly uncomfortable while doing so and coped with the feelings by just pushing them aside and focused on carrying out the norm-breaking behaviour. As the video was being filmed, there were a few onlookers who were walking from afar and they were staring directly at us and what we were doing.

As for how violation of social norms is related to violation of NP values, acting peculiarly would definitely alter the public’s opinion on NP as an institution itself. Specifically, the members of the public would think that minimal efforts were done by NP to educate their students on how to conduct themselves in public spaces. Moreover, the NP/BA management would most likely have another conundrum to solve in terms of rectifying students’ behaviour. Parents and peers of the students may feel concerned and slightly worried for their child or peer.

Social norm violations are linked to NP values violations because it may portray to others that NP students do not behave well. As a result, NP's reputation may suffer.
