         <description><![CDATA[<div>King George the 3rd issued a proclamation that forbade colonial settelment west of the Appalachian Mountains. <br>The British passed it because King George the 3rd hoped to placate Native Americans who had sided against him during the recently concluded 7 Years' War. <br>The colonists became angry with the proclamation. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Stamp Act was the first internal tax levied directly on American Colonists by the British Government. <br>The British passed it because they imposed on all American colonists and required them to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper used. <br>The colonists reacted by vocalizing their dissent in assemblies. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Quartering Act was a name given to a minimum of 2-acts of British parliment in the local governments of the American colonies to provide the British soldiers with any needed accommodations and housing. <br>The British passed it was because to outline the locations and conditions in which British soldiers are to find room and board in the American colonies. <br>The colonists disputed the legality of this act because it seemed to violate the Bill of Rights. </div>]]></description>
