In other cases, most people tend to be cold to the ones they have appreciation for, as it will set a wall between them, preventing the possibility to be hurt or hurt their loved ones and regret it awfully later on. Another suggestion is that a lot of people purposely harm their loved ones in order to protect themselves or anyone else they care for. It's true that there are human beings in the world who will stop at nothing to gain their benefits, so it's no surprise that they'd go as far as harming not just anyone, but their loved ones as well. Divorce/breakup, a push or shove, lying, cheating, stealing, etc.  Depending on the type of hurt, whether minor or major everyone in the end will be all right.
