Morning Netball:

I do morning netball every Thursday each week and I personally think it helps me a lot and also in proves my own skills because I made the actual netball team so I need lots and lots of practice to be the best I can be.

Every morning I check class charts not only for my timetable but also for my points :) currently I have 59 points, which I really hope to increase by the end of the school year and 0 negative points which is awesome and I hope to keep it that way for the rest of my year! My attendance percentage is 97.9% only because I was sick for a few days. I have never been late by car but only for the bus a couple times before which does not count for detention.

What have I learnt

This term so far I have learned multiple new things such as how to make different foods and how to code and make land yachts but as well as new things in Maths, Science, English, Languages and more:) In September I wasn’t capable of many things although now I can do all the things I couldn’t do back then , which is a great improvement for me.

After School Squads:

For this moment I am in 1 after school squad which is netball!

It is one of my favourite sports and I think netball keeps you fit because you run and jump in the game. In the next Terms I really want to join more squads and clubs because I want to be more active than I already am! In September and October, I wanted to join multiple clubs but I wasn’t living close to the school so it was hard to choose more.

English

When we started English we have been reading this novel called -“The Girl of The Ink & Stars”- and recently my class finished it! What I like about English is that we get the chance to read different stories and novels and discuss about them in class. Recently we have been learning about Ethos, Logos and Pathos in class and we have been writing quite a lot about them. In my couple most recent lessons we have written a speech about bullying and why it should stop as well as planning it and re-drafting it.

Real World Studies

In RWS, we have been doing collaboration and communication lessons and we have been learning about the Earthshot Prize Awards and now we are covering the COP28 topic and researching about it because it is an upcoming event taking place in EXPO City.

My skills

My strongest subjects are probably Languages,PE and Maths because I love speaking different languages, I am very sporty and intelligent as well. In Languages I slightly prefer French over Spanish only because I am extremely great at it and my parents spoke French to me as a child and sometimes still do:)

I also used to go to a French nursery so that is how I am used to the language and know many things in lesson time. I love entertaining myself with sports and staying fit and healthy. I do very well in PE lessons which improves my skills for a variety of sports and events. Maths is a very important subject to learn, which is why I always try to do my best and I also enjoy challenging myself with hard problem-solving questions a lot.

Since the beginning of this school year till now, I think I have improved a lot in not only my work but also how I get around the school too. In September , I did not know where half my classes were but now I’m the one helping some others!

History

What we have learnt:

In Year 7 History, we have been learning about how we use and develop our Historical Skills. Our first topic allowed us to look at different types of sources and how Historians use them to learn about the past, like oral and physical sources. We have also been using our investigation skills and our source skills to uncover mysteries such as that of the Tollund Man. Our new unit looks at Ancient Civilisations where we are going to explore different case studies on different civilisations and the impacts they had on culture, economy and countries and link this to how we live today.

BeAmazing Slides

Every month(since the start of September) we have these slides on our google classroom which is basically achievements you have done that month. You have to complete it before each month ends. You would write your form tutor class (e.g. 7XO) and your name then add a picture and type down what you have achieved.

History Progress:

I feel like I have made lots of progress since the start of the year, and I have so many things I couldn’t do in August and September but now I’m really good at it. Now I can write very detailed sentences about certain things and topics and I can also understand many more things that I couldn’t before.

I can answer questions more easily not only in my book but also participating in class and raising my hand.

I feel confident in History with different things I’m good at.

I know I can always ask my teacher(s) anything and anytime I need help with something, which is a good thing!

Home Learning/Homework

.I like home learning because I do not have to wake up that early and I find it easier because no one around me is distracting me so I finish the work pretty fast.

.The most homework I get is either from English,Maths or Languages , which I don’t mind because it helps me practice things. Every week, I complete my sparx homework for Maths!

What I want to Join in the following terms

.My 2 main sports I would like to join in the next terms are rounders and basketball because I used to be in both squads in my old school so I know the rules for each sport and I play them well!

.In PE we also do Basketball a lot so it is basically like a practice for the trials :)

Geography

In geography we have been learning about 4 and 6 grid references ,map making skills, Chico Mendes, sustainability and learning symbols on a map. I think my 4 and 6 grid reference finding is really good and normally I always get questions correct.
