1)         Creating a FOOD&BEAUTY MAP of local farmers, producing genuine and organic food as the reflection of the potential beauty of our territory in terms of cultural heritage, for which we are supposed to map out a kind of literacy to share with our peers through a series of multiple choice google form-based tests, to be completed in a group race game every evening after the scheduled daily activity. The space for setting the FOOD&BEAUTY MAP is the local MUNICIPALITY where a FARMERS’ MARKET will be open with the support of some REPRESENTATIVES of our local COLDIRETTI, which is Italy’s main farmers’ organization. The market is also the place for us to share information on the referred issues with our foreign partners; as well as acquire

•           greater confidence in our language skills, 

•           improve our communicative skills, and overall performance

•           our capacity to introduce the issues of cultural heritage, food literacy, healthy eating habits and lifestyles in several subjects and extracurricular activities

•           our digital skills, to use them in pedagogical environments.

 

2)         Achieving EDU/FOOD LITERACY in terms of driving one’s attention to local food production, organic products and life in the open air, to acquire better eating habits; respect for one’s local cultural heritage to make us value our traditions and, thus, acquire new lifestyles, concerning food habits and free time activities. Confronting and comparing our cultural heritage with our European partners will contribute for the acknowledgement of differences and similarities in European Culture.

The name Seasonal refers to all the products which are naturally and seasonally grown in our territory; thus local. But thanks to this E+ project, which was started last year as an Etwinning project with the people in here, what was local has been  turned into global. But we've made it glocal with the support of new tecnhologies represented by the small snail symbol in the title, which has shortened distances and made a European cultural common heritage of what was a single country tradition and identity. We've shared ideas and exchanged opinions. So let's make our market become glocal and thanks for being here

These cakes have a particular decoration: one or more eggs with their shells. They were prepared to give them to the boyfriend on Easter day and more numerous the eggs were, more was the love that the person felt

Since the sixteenth century the processing of licorice root had been flanked, as a secondary activity.

The particular climate and soil conditions, which favored the abundant spontaneous growth of the plant, used, as well as for pharmaceutical uses, also in the confectionery, liquor and tobacco tanning industry, gave the Calabrian product an excellent quality.

When, in 1924, the three Amarelli brothers take over the management of the company from their father, the factory has already undergone a substantial restructuring and a first mechanization, 

The traditional production process was extremely complex (the main phases consisted of 

•             washing, 

•             cutting, 

•             grinding, 

•             boiling and 

•             pressing. 

In the second half of the 1920s Amarelli exported to England, Belgium and France. 

In the eighties the Amarelli brand has now consolidated an international reputation. Its products are widely distributed, as well as in Europe, the United States, Canada and Australia.

In 2001 was opened the museum of licorice "Giorgio Amarelli" where the history of licorice is told and are exposed all the tools used for the processing of licorice from the eighteenth century.
