Many space missions are more suited to telerobotic rather than <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_spaceflight">crewed</a> operation, due to lower cost and lower risk factors. In addition, some planetary destinations such as <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venus">Venus</a> or the vicinity of <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jupiter">Jupiter</a>are too hostile for human survival, given current technology. Outer planets such as <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn">Saturn</a>, <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranus">Uranus</a>, and <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neptune">Neptune</a> are too distant to reach with current crewed spacecraft technology, so telerobotic probes are the only way to explore them.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[Understanding the energy balance will help in identifying the sources and sinks of energy globally and how the lower atmosphere responds to solar forcing diurnally and seasonally. Specifically, the EMIRS instrument will look at the thermal state in the lower atmosphere, the geographical distribution of dust, water vapor and water ice, as well as the three-dimensional thermal structure of the Martian atmosphere and its variability on sub-seasonal timescales. The EMIRS instrument has a rotating mirror that will allow the instrument to do scans of Mars.

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>مقياس طيفي بالأشعة فوق البنفسجية</strong></div><ul><li>كشف الطول الموجي للأشعة فوق البنفسجية.</li><li>تحديد مدى وفرة وتنوع أول أكسيد الكربون والأكسجين في الغلاف الحراري على نطاقات زمنية شبه موسمية.</li><li>حساب التركيب ثلاثي الأبعاد والنسب المتغيرة للأكسجين والهيدروجين في الغلاف الخارجي.</li><li>قياس نسب التغير في الغلاف الحراري.</li></ul><div>هذا الجهاز عبارة عن مطياف تصوير بالأشعة فوق البنفسجية طويل المدى لديه القدرة على قياس الأشعة فوق البنفسجية التي تقع في النطاق بين 100 إلى 170 نانو متر، مع دقة طيفية تتراوح بين 1.3 و1.8 نانومتر. ويكون بذلك لديه القدرة على إجراء القياسات المطلوبة لغازات الهيدروجين والأكسجين وأول أكسيد الكربون ضمن المهمة. ويتكون هذا المطياف من تلسكوب أحادي العدسة يُغذي مطياف التصوير المزود بدائرة رولاند، والمجهز لعملية عدّ الفوتونات وتحديد موقعها. ويصل دقة مقياس المطياف في تحديد الأماكن للمسافات التي تقل عن 300 كم عن السطح، وهي مسافة كافية لتمييز الاختلاف المكاني بين الغلاف الحراري للمريخ الذي يقع على ارتفاع (100 – 200 كم)، والغلاف الخارجي الذي يقع على ارتفاع أعلى من 200 كم متر. وستتضمن نتائج المطياف ما لا يقل عن 6 صور للغلاف الحراري للمريخ في كل دورة حول الكوكب، وما لا يقل عن 6 صور داخلية لهالات الأكسجين والهيدروجين، و5 صور خارجية لهالات الهيدروجين في الدورة الواحدة. وقد تم تصميم هذا الجهاز بالشراكة بين مركز محمد بن راشد للفضاء، ومختبر فيزياء الغلاف الجوي والفضاء في جامعة كولورادو – بولدر، ومختبر علوم الفضاء في جامعة كاليفورنيا – بيركلي.</div>]]></description>
