One aspect of my newborn year was sleeping; this toy was placed in my crib and helped me sleep. The toy would play calming ocean sounds, and the fish would move. This calming music would help me sleep and created a soothing environment for me growing up. This helped me build trust in my parents and I was a good sleeper throughout the night because of it.

During my infant years, to help me fall asleep, my parents would put movies on while I was in bed, going to sleep. My favorite movie was Finding Nemo, and my parents have told me that they went and bought another disc in case the disc we had broke. I learned my colors from watching these movies, and it also helped me sleep through the night as I got used to the sound playing as I slept.

For early childhood physical development, I went with a height wall. When I was growing up, my parents would go ahead and mark my height on the wall. This started in preschool and went all the way to my junior year in high school. In the beginning, the lines were not spread out, as when we are younger, we grow more slowly and more steadily. As mentioned in the book, children during this stage in life will grow about 2/3 of an inch per year up until the age of 6, so the lines were more of a yearly occurrence, as my growth was steady for the average kid during this age range.

During my preschool years, one project that I did was building an igloo out of milk cartons. It was a class project, and the class was using their imagination and creativity to create an igloo that would stand that we could walk under. This is one of the major parts of cognitive development, as preschoolers make major gains in creativity and their imagination.

This shows early childhood social development as I am building relationships with the people in my life, like my parents and my peers who are in my classes at school. This is important as developing relationships is critical in understanding the world around them at this age.

For middle childhood physical development, I went with a picture of me winning a soccer trophy. As for most kids during this age, they are put into sports like soccer and baseball to improve strength and endurance. It also supplies the child with social aspects as they are on a team. Sports also help the child maintain fitness and learn skills that they wouldn't have learned without being in the sport. I did soccer for 3 years during this time in my life.

This shows middle childhood social development as I am creating relationships with the peers that I am around, during this time, I would also be making connections with kids at school, which also adds to the relationship building with peers that are around me in the world. As I have met people during this age that I am still friends with.

In this picture of middle childhood cognitive development, I went with an assignment that I did in first grade. Here I am using vocabulary and grammar to fix sentences that have some errors. This stage of childhood is often where students learn the 3 Rs, which are reading, writing, and arithmetic. They also learn about grammar, vocabulary, pragmatics, pronunciation, and intonation. These become critical elements during this time to help the child learn the English language.
