Before I first moved to Texas, I presumed it would be very similar to where I used to live. I tended to compare everything to my old cities because they were very alike and the only place I had ever lived in and truly experienced. I compared people, schools, stores, weather, and more. All of it was very different and new, like an outburst of change. I wonder what it would've been like if I had just enjoyed the new experience instead of comparing it.

How does this relate to the theme?
This related to the theme because if i would of just let go of the old memories from where i used to live i wouldn't have dwelled on going back so much as apposed to enjoying it.

My grandparents and great aunt had died a few years back. When each of them died, I couldn't move on. I would cling to the moments I shared with them and act like I was waiting for them to come back even though I knew that wasn't possible, but when I finally let go of the memories, it was so much easier to get over everything.

How does this relate to the theme?
This relates to the theme because if I hadn't been so afraid of letting to of those memories with them i could've moved on so much quicker and had been able to focus

When i moved from Missouri, i realized how many people i had to try and leave behind. In the beginning of the move, i still talked to everyone, but it wasn't the same. I couldnt actually hang out with them face to face . i ended up drifting with all of them but i still had the memories which made me miss them a lot . in order to get over my old friendships i had to let go of the memories and make new friends. so i did .

how does this relate to the theme ?
this relates to the theme because it would’ve been so much easier if i wouldve just left the memories in the past at first but i didn’t and it ended up making it harder in the end .
