Our favourite animal is the flamingo. Flamingos have long and thin legs. Their colours are pink like rose pink. They generally live by lakes which are salty. They feed on shrimp. We are into the pink colour. They are very beautiful and iconic animal and we use its appearance on many decorations. It is often found on many decorative items.

Like listening part, in the speaking part we have three stages like Before/While/After speaking. We learnt what is done in these stages. For example, in (before the students begin speaking) part, talk about topic, make sure students know the aim of the activity, consider about timing, instructions and say reasons for communicating , demonstrate the task. Secondly, in while part, take notes, monitor students. Finally, in after part, re-do activity, prepare activities about errors, give students feedback and task repetition should be done 🤓

Takeaways for Reading

Today our class was about reading skill. As in the other skills like writing, speaking, listening, reading was some similiar aspects to those skills. These features are pre-reading, gist task, detailed task, post reading. We understand that bottom-up approach and top-down processing are important for students who are doing and studying reading excercises, activities, etc. Then, we talked about Flipped Learning by asking 3 questions . 1-)How do you feel about it? 2-) How could you use it in your classes? 3-) What concerns do you have about Flipped Learning?

In a nutshell, these three main points are important and also I would like to add that group work, pair work are so important in our every classes. 🌸

Today our subject was grammar. To define grammar it is the ways words change their form and combine with other words to make sentences. It is just a part of definition of it. If we think grammar as skeleton or backbone, we can think vocabulary as organs or muscles. The main features of grammar lesson plan are context, meaning, (check understanding), form, (check understanding) pronounciation, controlled practice, free practice. Today was like more about forms based language but also our mentor said that don’t think strict about PPP, because it also covers meaning. Guided Discovery is also mentioned. It covers context, comprehension, meaning, form and checking pronounciation. If we compare PPP with the guided discovery, the guided discovery should be chosen for idealistic classes but in our real life classes, PPP is generally used. Through the end of the lesson, we talked about Loom which is a tool for video messaging for work. Then we prepared a sample on it. In the afternoon, we went some places in Erzurum. It was really enjoyable🍀🍀🍀

Today I was feeling excellent about myself that l realize that my concentration is in the peak point about workings. Today, in the begging of the class we talked about assessment. Assessment in all skills like reading, writing, speaking and listening. Without assessing , How can we know the progress or results of our studies? It is not possible. For this reason, it is essential to have an effective assessment part. As a second point, assessment of learning and assessment for learning are different things . As a third point, self-assessment is so important for students especially to have confidence and see their progress by themselves. The other main point is PLC (Professional Learning Communities). There are many things to talk about PLC. I want to mention about some main features of it. Discovering new techniques, broaden your horizon, finding solutions to the problems, refreshing background knowledge, better communication skills, mastering enjoyable teaching and finally incorporating technology into the classes are the benefits of PLC.🐝🐝
