Our group believes that it depends on what you view as magic to determine its reality. If you view things such as fancy sleight of hand or things like superstition as magic then we believe it could exist in the world, but things like “black” magic or magical rituals we don’t necessarily believe in. It all depends on your native belief system, some people could consider some religious practices as magic and other require more obvious “witch craft” magic to believe in it’s reality..

Shamanism is more about connecting the human body with ancestors and spirits. It doesn't involve people like monks and priests who work full time in the religion, but instead someone who dedicates part of their life to becoming a shaman.

Religion centers around believing in a form of afterlife or a higher power. Often times participation in rituals, practices and traditions.

Sacred: Sacred Egyptian Ibis.

Shamanism is ultimately about communicating with spirits, ancestors, and the natural world in an attempt to influence reality. Tools and animals are often used in the ceremonies and rituals, which make them more complicated than most religious practices. The ceremonies and rituals performed by the shaman tend to be more casual and don't necessarily need to be in a specific environment. The title of shaman is usually given to the individual, not earned.

Magic is the use of means believed to have supernatural power over natural forces. It also can be described as an extraordinary power or influence seemingly from a supernatural source (Merriam-Webster).
Example: Lightning strikes because we can’t exactly recreate the conditions for a thunderstorm in a natural state but once the cloud forms for this, we can recreate the conditions needed for lightning to strike the ground (negative and positive charges attracting). Magic potions which is a potion that works in mysterious and unexplained ways.

For the most part, our group believes that magic doesn't exist. We think that people are luckier than others, but it doesn't extend much further than that. Magic and other supernatural aspects are fun to think about, but we believe that there isn't much evidence of it actually existing. In order for us to believe, we would need more proof. Voodoo dolls are an example of magic because they are used in various cultures as a way to control and hurt a certain individual.
