Soil Erosion can often be seen on news reports whilst watching news channels like ABS-CBN or GMA. Similar accounts include the landslide in Naga, a small city in Cebu, which killed at least 12 people.

Landslides are a hazard to many residents. From unstable foundations for houses to possible loss of property and important belongings to the rubble.


Ways to prevent disasters like these are to keep an eye out for the warning signs on soil erosion, when traces such as, shifting floor panels, dipping concrete slabs, etc. are seen, it is advised to call a professional from the government to create plans to prevent loss of property, and loss of lives.

This occurrence rapidly increases the temperature of the earth’s surface. 

Causes:
 Global warming occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air pollutants and greenhouse gases collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth’s surface.

Global warming contributes to the violent weather phenomenons that destroys the livelihood of many and changes our lifestyles negatively and even to the extent of making some areas inhabitable.

Global warming has been present for the past decades and in reality sense there isn't anything that can prevent it from occurring because we pushed the boundaries of human activities, but there are ways we can mitigate the state of global warming by reducing our carbon footprint which means participating in activities that have alternative and better ways to live at the same time taking care and respecting our environment.

The major causes of deforestation are wood extraction such as logging and/or harvesting wood for fuel. There is also agricultural and infrastructural expansion.

Deforestation causes lack of trees and a more exposed Earth. A lack of trees can result to more flooding and the loss of a forest not only causes a loss of habitat to animals but it also destroys homes of the indigenous people who rely on the forest to live. With less trees around, water can't cycle properly which makes dry soil where we can't grow crops.

Different measures we can undertake to resolve deforestation could go as far as planting a tree or it could be as simple as not buying too much wooden products (paper, palm oil, etc.). We can also raise awareness about this problem and educate ourselves and others about it.
