As settlers moved westward into the Ohio Valley the Indians became even more worried about the threat of their land being taken from them. They formed the Northwest Confederacy which consisted of tribes including the Shawnee, Delaware, Iroquois, and Others under the Chief Little Turtle. Numerous bloody battles were fought and Americans started to become frightened. In 1794 the U.S. Army defeated the Confederacy tribes ( Battle of Fallen Timbers). Treaty of Greenville- Confederacy surrendered the Ohio Territory.
