I looked for information on the web without knowing the topic, the result was that this little robot named Nao costs 7307 Euros; too much. I studied computer science in high school and there was n.a.n.o. computer (almost inaudible), now use Arduino that costs a few hundred Euros including accessories to the basic kit. It seems more realistic this second solution, or better 7 LIM that Nao.

I’m really convinced that robotics and coding are a great help in understanding STEM’s concept. But there is a big problem in my school. Thanks to the project LSS (Laboratorio del Sapere Scientifico) financed by Tuscany we received one (1!) robot-EV3 for all the school. I’ve looked for activity that can be done in classroom, but is recommended to make students work in small group, one robot per each group. Have you any suggestion on how to work with a class of 23 with only one robot- EV3?

I think and right about Scratch and Logo (Elica - I was share in previous padlet). But here I know - in our school we have a team who take participation in a competition with Lego's robotics. Program robotics is a problem like a very smart engineering. Students have a task and have to design and programming Lego's object to follow and execute the activity at successful time. It's is known that Lego's accessories are very expensive:) The Scratch is a language - one of way to move object. I think about GoogleScetchUp - in a full version there are tools to make scenario with physics environment. Finally - it'll be an interesting discussion about the violet hour robots in math lessons. Classroom of the future contain very many different technique - simply no words of what I saw in Brussels, 2015

I think this is a very interesting tool. I 'm following a coding's course, it's very important. My pupils do "hour of code". They were enthusiastic and have done all exercises well. I was very happy to see my pupils attentive and involved.
Code and robotics are interesting and useful tools that can make maths' learning more enjoyable.
Now I'm curious to know something about robotics, because I know it little and I think new technology and tools are interesting and important for my job.

I've started to use coding in my classes since I knew The hour of code Event, three years ago. No doubs about the great resources the code approach has got. And no matter if my students often don't have pens or exercises books and I use my personal pc in the class. But sometimes I ask myself if it could be better focus my time in more traditional activities (logical abilities in primis, of course) let the use of the IT for when they will be more confidence with the basis. While I try to find answers, Im going on to experiment this approach and the robotics too, keeping me up to date with many courses!

I like ITC and coding but I have a doubt: I remember the boom about hypertext...well lots of investiment in terms of money, pc, hundreds of hours training...at the end it was useful but not much more than using more traditional methods...I think most of all, results depends on the educational awarness and intentionality , the time you spend on it...so I'm asking: coding is going to be another educational fashion trend... however I'm curious and I'm going to learn coding!

I frequently use coding in my classes, both with online resources (as Scratch and Code.org) and with several kinds of unplugged activities. With these games pupils can learn to code and, in the same time, they can deepen their knowledges in all subjects. I missed the webinar but it was nice to be able to watch it afterwards. I've tried some coding in my school and also with a kind of robotics objects like dash and dot and resently I've got a microbit to work with and a small drone that both are programmable with bricks coding.

I loved the presentation. I teach Math in an Upper Secondary School in Greece. There is a lesson we call it "Project". Definitely we can use coding there and also use the robots as a learning mediators that can help to understand abstract concepts, while connecting them to the real world.
I missed the webinar so I find that is a great idea to record and let us get inspired by this.

I am one of the Lego Education certified teacher in Turkey. We usually participate in FLL contests by designing EV3 robots. And i see that it is very helpfull to teach about coding and some mathematical ideas with my robotics club.

I think this is a very interesting argument and that it arouse such curiosity in childeren.
My school have taken part to the code week project so children keep in touch with this new kind of teaching, and they have been very excited and fascinated.
