While completing this project, I enjoyed being able to actually apply the Korean vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar I learned in class to express my ideas in complete Korean sentences. It is very rewarding to utilize the Korean knowledge from class to describe my daily life interests, such as the places I like.

2. Why did you choose these places?

I choose these places because they are the places I am most strongly associated with and most strongly attached to. These places are the places that I spent the most of my time at or I’ve been to the most, either by myself (in my dorm), with friends (at Delmar Loop), or with family (at Victoria Harbour). These places contain most of my happy memories with friends and family.

3. What was the most challenging part of the project? How did you overcome it?

I think the most challenging part of the project is to apply all different grammar patterns and particles and use them correctly in my writing. The list of grammar and particles is a little overwhelming to me at first, but I was able to figure it out after I went through my notes to review the usage of grammar structures and after I went through the checklist to double check I had each item.

4. What do you feel more confident about in Korean after completing this project?

I definitely feel more confident about Korean after completing this project. After practices through this project, I am more familiarized with the grammar, and particles. Rather than using simple Korean vocab, I am now more confident in forming complete sentences in Korean with correct particles like 은/는, 이/가, and 을/를, and I am more confident to share more about myself in Korean.

5. Are there any other comments or reflections to include?

This Happy Place project and this Korean class are both very engaging and interesting to me. Through completing this project and taking the class, I am really captivated by the Korean language and culture, and I am really motivated and inspired to continue learning Korean in the future to read, write, and speak this language more fluently.
