There are two types of VietCong soldiers, part time and full time. The part time soldiers make up the vast majority of the army. Part time soldiers receive very minimal training, they will only be taught basic skills such as, how to shoot a gun, and how to follow orders. On the other hand their were also full time soldiers that took their job very seriously They will train for a month on how the VietCong fight and will learn how to work as a unit. Then after a soldier's training they will get sent out to battle full time, or when needed.

The VietCong are known for their hit and run tactics, where they come suddenly onto American soldiers fire at them for awhile and then leave, fleeing before they could fight back. With this method the Viet Cong were able to win a lot more battles, and save their troops. If they were only fighting for a few minutes at a time then they were less likely to get hit and killed.

To stay alive in the war the VietCong developed a strategy to that makes it very difficult for US soldiers to find them. The VietCong soldiers started digging underground and building tunnels. They have an elaborate system of tunnels that include, kitchens, sleeping rooms, storage, wells, and firing ranges. If the US army were to take over a certain city with tunnels underneath it, the VietCong soldiers could continue to fight them without the US ever finding out where they were.

There are many weapons used in the war to fight the US. The VietCong issues every soldier a Chinese version of the AK-47 submachine gun. They also had many other weapons on hand so that they could take down anything the US could bring. The VietCong has heavy machine guns to take down helicopters, and used rocket propelled grenades to take down armored vehicles. The VietCong was also able to let many people build their own weapons to bring to battle. Many people built pits with spikes in them that were also contaminated to increase infection rate. They also used the US's weapons against them, once an air raid was done they would collect all the dud missiles and rewire them for their own use. Many of the bobby traps found in the jungle were also home made. The VietCong is all about ingenuity and they're always looking to improve their strategy, either with fire power or everyday civilians.

How We Will Win the War

The US soldiers view the war as strictly a military mission, where the VietCong soldiers are fighting for their lives. They have more passion for what they are fighting for and in the end that is what will count, not the amount of people that died. It won't matter if the US loses 100,000 to us losing 700,000 people, we will have won our country back, and our government. The Viet Cong also have the homefield advantage, they know the terrain way better than the Us soldiers, so it will be easier to get around. Since the Viet Cong build tunnels the US soldiers won't be able to find us and we will be able to attack them more frequently and with less consequences. The Viet Cong has more passion , and drive compared to the Americans, there is no way we could lose the war.

They have the heavier and bigger guns in the back and down low because they take longer to reload and the people firing them are at more of risk getting shot. It also shows other soldiers just holding their regular gun, getting ready to go into battle
