MOVIE REVIEW 1
The lion king

The takeaway lesson from the Movie - The Lion King

#1 we should keep our eyes on the road ahead of us.
As Mufasa knows he is a king. He talks like one, walks like one. He feels no need to exaggerate or diminish his authority. He embraces both his power and the responsibilities that come with it.

Scar believes he was unjustly denied the crown, is fixated on the past, always conspiring. Over the years, he has become bitter, petty. His thirst for power makes him illogical and short-sighted. He’ll torture a rat to try and prove who’s boss; shake paws with the hyenas even though he knows they’ll strip him to the bone given half a chance.
And through it all, he remains so trapped in the past that he cannot build a narrative for himself. Everything he is becomes rooted in what could have been.

2 Yes there are various scenes which We can connect to the leadership & Teamwork course.
I.e
In the movie The Lion King, there comes a variety of leadership styles and leadership abuses that are portrayed throughout the cast of characters.
Simba is the perfect example of a “psychodynamic approach to leadership”, whereas,
Mufassa is one of the representations of the “social exchange theory” and Scar integrates him with “the bad powers”.
It seems to be concerning to focus on Simba’s feel of culpability that may him reject himself, his family, best friends and his royal’s destiny. Discovering Scars murdered his father,
he puts himself in confidence and integrates all the characteristics of fundamental leadership concepts (bases of power and leader skills, traits, and behaviours) to become the Lion King and makes it a reality.

3 one of my favorite dialogues from the movie is

"Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures, from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope." -Mufasa

This dialogue portrayed the truest meaning of leadership as we know that a leader
Needs to manage the balance of everything.
He/she needs to take the initiative to seize the risk, and needs to belong to the back when they achieve victory.
And respect each & every member of the team regardless of anything.

My second most favorite dialogue is -

"Being brave doesn't mean you go looking for trouble." -Mufasa

I admire this dialogue as it defines the true meaning of bravery,
This means that What it does mean is that you’re mature enough to understand your fears and overcome them.
Which is one of the truest quality of Leaders.

In the movie - The lion king
One thing which according to me lacking is a lack of stylization in the faces of the characters, due to which we are unable to understand the emotions. We can't read their emotions through their facial expressions instead the audience is supposed to interpret how the character is feeling through their bodies & verbal movements.
Apart from this, the background is dark brown & green & so are the animal
The rest of the things are fine.
The movie is bestowing an adequate message.

Why self-awareness and knowledge of others are important?
Ans -First of all self-awareness is important as because when we are self-aware we can easily recognize our main strength and weaknesses which ultimately helps us to set our goals.
We know in which areas we need to grow and work.
Knowledge of others place a vital role.
It gives us the ability to make good use of the information on one hand, enabling you to disseminate it accurately and use it wisely.

* Why Personality Test like BIG 5 and MBTI?

What is MBTI?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument is a questionnaire designed to make psychological types understandable and useful in our everyday lives. MBTI results identify valuable differences between people – differences that can be the source of misunderstanding and miscommunication.

What is BIG 5?

This self-report test measures the big five personality traits using the IPIP Big-Five Factor Markers. Background. The big five personality traits are the best accepted and most commonly used model of personality in academic psychology.

Personality psychologists are interested in what differentiates one person from another and why we behave the way that we do. Personality research, like any science, relies on quantifiable concrete data which can be used to examine what people are like.

There are many event/experiences that have had the greatest impact in my development but the greatest of all was when I helped my friend to get out of some trouble. He was in habit of drinking alcohol as he was with wrong people who were older then him and were motivating him to drink. But, I felt something wrong and I decided to help my friend to get out of that situation.
So, I tried to convince him to not drink as this was not right, explained him the consequences that he and his family will face if he will not quite using alcohol and also make him realize that those person who are making you use alcohol are not your friends. It took time and efforts to make him do the right thing but at last i was successful in saving my friend from bad habits. so, this event impacted me so much that i started feeling more responsible and mature and I learned that i can make people understand what is wrong and what is right and influence them. I also learned that i can become a good leader.

But the leader and its mate get all the things in control
by trusting each other and following the commands of there leader
without the fear of crashing. And a leader always have a backup plan and here they showed what a leader means.
And they also showed that a leader is not a leader without his team.
For example- if the leader was alone doing every thing then the plane couldn't be rescued.
But with the help of his team and a proper coordination between the team and leader they were successful in saving others.
That's what a true leader do.

They are considered to be one of the most sought-after soft skills.

We demonstrate them whenever we engage in any kind of verbal or nonverbal communication. In fact, qualities as basic as body language and attitude toward others greatly affect our chances of excelling at work.

Strong interpersonal skills are a key indicator of success in a working environment, as benefits include the ability to cooperate with teammates to solve difficult problems, as well as simply enhancing your popularity around the office.

On the other hand, lacking them might lead to conflicts with colleagues or management and cause others to see you as a hindrance to getting the job done.

1. Vulnerability- The word vulnerable means a person that is in a position of being susceptible to physical or emotional attack or harm. The word communication means the imparting or exchange of information or news. If I sum up a meaning based on these definitions, vulnerable communications are the sharing of information (feelings, thoughts, etc.) while you are in a position where your feelings could be hurt, your thoughts could be judged, and you can be left feeling less than.

2. Assertiveness- Assertiveness is a skill regularly referred to in social and communication skills training.

Being assertive means being able to stand up for your own or other people’s rights in a calm and positive way, without being either aggressive, or passively accepting ‘wrong’.

Assertive individuals are able to get their point across without upsetting others, or becoming upset themselves.

3. Asking questions- is a natural feature of communication, but also one of the most important tools which teachers have at their disposal. Questioning is crucial to the way teachers manage the class, engage students with content, encourage participation and increase understanding.

Typically, teachers ask between 300-400 questions per day, however the quality and value of questions varies. While questioning can be an effective tool, there is both an art and science to asking questions.

Every question demands a response (except in the case of requests and suggestions), so that questions inevitably generate communication. However the quantity of questions asked needs to be considered in relation to general time constraints and the need to keep teacher talking time to a minimum while maximising learner contributions.

4. Body language- Body language is a type of nonverbal communication in which physical behaviors, as opposed to words, are used to express or convey the information. Such behavior includes facial expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of space. Body language exists in both animals and humans.

5. NVC (Non-violence communication)- Nonviolent communication (abbreviated NVC, also called compassionate communication or collaborative communication) is an approach to communication based on principles of nonviolence. It is not a technique to end disagreements, but rather a method designed to increase empathy and improve the quality of life of those who utilize the method and the people around them.

Which Thinking Hat did you use (if you used any)?

Ans- The recent problem/ issue i came across was
That i was being depressed staying in the house locked in. And it was affecting me as it was making me irritated. More and more day by day. And I can not do anything because it was for our safety as corona was back and to safe our self from the wave we have to be indoors. The think that was affecting more was whenever i use to switch my TV on there was only news going on every time “ more then 2 lakh people died of corona , this died that died” and at a point it was so fearful and stressful but then I thought that may be this is the time god is giving us to be with our family.
Parents, siblings, etc. the time that we were not getting in our day to day corona free life.
We were not paying enough attention to ourself and our family we were just rushing from here to there. So, now we have time with our family. And after that i was relaxed very much.
In this i think i used yellow hat as i think positive at last that helped me to get out of it.

Self-Reflection Exercise - Recall and share one of your leadership experiences (with family/ friends/ school/ college) and which leadership style you incorporated?

Ans- One of my leadership experiences in school
In school i was selected as my team captain
In my football team. I was the leader of 15 player (10+1 including me playing in the field and 4 seating outside the field for change).
It is quite difficult to be a leader it not a easy task as you have to maintain a decorum of the team, execute a plan , and give instructions to your team members. The team members see you as a hope and trust you. So, you have to make them feel like a strong team thats a work of a leader you make them feel united.

After that we were having a inter-school match
And it was worst match i have seen i my life.
As the match started in first half we we scored 2 goals and they were 0 but when second half started they started doing cheating and started hurting our team members one my one
We also raised our voice about the things they were doing like pushing, wrong tackling to hurt us but there coach was like “no, they are not”
So, i gave instructions to my players to continue the match.

My team members were very aggressive on the other team even i was to.
But, I decided to play a fair game and asked my team mates to claim down. It was not easy as many of my team mates were upset with me but I explained the importance of fair game
And if we do the same thing as they were doing then there will be no difference between them and us. And what can be the consequences that will happen if we will do something like that and asked them to have faith in our team. That was not quite easy task but to be a leader you have to choice the right and best thing for your team.
At last we won the match even through they cheated they were having one goal less then us.

It was not a good match but my team and i was very happy that we choice the right path that day.

Be inspirational -When the going gets tough, people need to feel that everything is going to be OK. They inevitably look to their leaders for motivation and encouragement. Trust your talent, be bold and people will line up behind you.

2. Seek out advice- Its always good to seek advice of every team members as no advice is a waste of time every advice as some useful info in it that can help you to achieve our goal.

3. Leader is not a leader without his team- According to me if there is no team then there is no leader. To be a leader you need need a team. so always treat your team as your family. they are the ones who can help achieve our goal. Pay respect to each and every one and make a trust bonding with them.

4. Never stop learning- Every thing teaches you something. if you achieve some thing it taught you something. Even if you fail in something it also taught you some thing. Its just that you have to find learnings from small small things. Never say that this person can't teach me anything. Always try to learn from your team member.

MOVIE REVIEW 2
CHAK DE INDIA

(A) My learnings takeaways from this movie are

Determination and Persistence: No matter what failure comes your way, you should always remember that you’ve got something no one else does and that’s why you can overcome anything. Being demotivated is not an option.
Team objectives are greater: The movie emphasized that when you’re in a team, it is more important to look at the team’s goals than individual’s personal objectives. We need to look beyond our individual goals to win as a team.

(B) Yes, I could relate many of the concepts of the Leadership Teamwork course in the movie "Chak de India", Shah rukh khan is one of the best examples of a great leader for his team. One of the main things one great leader should have is (Risk Taking) in the movie also the coach Shahrukh khan took as many risks as he could wherever needed. He knew that his girl's team had some weaknesses during the time of the boys vs. girl match but he still took the risk which ultimately resulted in some sort of learning.
Another, Concept which I noticed was ( Motivating the team ) the coach Shah rukh khan was always there to motivate his team. Moreover, he knew that when to give positive motivation and when to give negative one. Which helped the team to grow and learn.

"The ability to lead through influence, rather than authority, is the most important quality of a great leader."
This is the most important thing a leader should take care of when he wants to lead a team. This thing happens when the leader is directly able to communicate his/her feelings to his team. Similarly, in the movie, the coach Shahrukh khan was able to communicate and build a strong bond with his team his messages were very clear and transparent.

*Be A Leader, Not A Boss*

Seniority comes with a lot of responsibility, and it is essential to put it to the best use. A boss orders his subordinates to work, but a true leader works hand-in-hand with his subordinates. Kabir Khan not only leads the team to victory but also helps the women overcome their fears and weaknesses in the process. A leader does not just focus on getting the work done; s/he also focuses on long-term development.

(C) These are my fav scenes-
*The grand salute*

This scene got the viewers reaching for their tissues. The women's hockey team was seen giving a tough fight to the male one. Their performance earned them a grand salute from their opponents and the authorities were left with no option but to send the girls for the world championship.

*Taakat and Neeyat*

"Team banane ke liye taakat nahin, neeyat ki zaroorat hoti hai," said SRK in one of the scenes in the film. Soon followed an epic one where the female hockey players gave it off to a bunch of goons who eve teased their team mates at Mc Donalds where the team was having lunch. This scene is spectacular not only in terms of its execution but also because it reinforced SRK's previous "taakat" and "neeyat" dialogue.

(D) Chak de India is so far one of the best movies I have ever seen This film is about a man attempting to demonstrate his commitment and love for his game, his kin, and his country. This is about a man disdained by the country, evaded by his nearby ones, and his reclamation in the manner in which he knows best. It is this fundamental hidden subject that makes Chak De India exceptional. This subject is so all-inclusive, thus recognizable, that your heart associates immediately.

Chak de India is about Indian sportswomen going to the front line, about the obvious and troubling real factors gazing at our public game, and the purposes for that. It is about solidarity in variety, strength in shortcoming, and placing the group above oneself. It is about the penances one needs to make to accomplish his objectives. It is about the achievement of a genuine donning soul! It is genuine, yet engaging. It is enthusiastic without being jingoistic. Its global, yet absorbed Indianness. Its a montage of the various territories of India, and the troublesome yet productive arrangement of this collection.
