What it does: It creates constant anxiety for both the characters and watchers.  It also tries to make it so we can relate to the characters and get attached to them even if they did. The husband, Marty Byrde is a financial planner who becomes involved with a drug lord and ends up owing him a significant amount of money. In order to repay the debt, Marty proposes a scheme to launder money through various businesses in the Ozarks.

The show provides entertainment to its audience through its compelling plot.

It creates a sense of humor towards the readers since it is very funny. the show never fails to make me smile / laugh  and that is why I enjoy watching it

This show I can say that the first 20 minutes of Bodyguard is arguably one of the best thriller scenes I've ever watched. From that moment onwards, I knew I had to watch all of the episodes as quickly. Eli some how dose not get infected and Joe has to bring her to a hospital to see if they can make a cure. at the beginning they don't like each other but in the end Joe see Eli as a daughter and dose everything to protect her.

What does it do: Snowfall is a show that works emotionally to make its viewers impact off of the stories being told. For me snowfall opened up my eyes to the dangers of drug use specifically within the black community. This show has showed me how drugs specifically crack cocaine took over the community within those times and became a standard norm. It also had small mentions of other troubles such as racial discrimination and police brutality. Frank Gallagher, a neglectful single father of six kids (Fiona, Phillip, Ian, Debbie, Carl, and Liam.), spends his days drunk, high, getting himself into some sort of trouble, all while his children learn to take care of themselves. No care in the world other than living his life to the absolute "fullest." This show is definitely a comedy, but I believe an alternate meaning is to show how drug/alcohol abuse affects his family, friends, neighborhood, etc. The oldest (Fiona) was stuck with the responsibility of taking care of not only herself but all of her other siblings. No matter what the situation is they all stick together to survive. 

This show is definitely there to make the world laugh, but as I said previously it was meant to highlight the struggles of alcohol and drug addiction. Not only on the person abusing the substances, but the surrounding people and environment around them. I also feel this show also sets more realistic body expectations, shows experiences with teen pregnancy, struggles of the LGBTQ community, hard family life, racism, poverty, corrupt police systems, drug and alcohol abuse etc. I know it's a TV show however I feel like this show is very personable and relatable in certain aspects.
