Wes and his family moved due to his father dying and their neighborhood was turning bad. Wes's father passed away but because of this, his mother wanted to stay in their home to remember him. Though they wanted to stay there to keep those memories alive, being there got too hard on the family. Wes felt very alone. His mom would sleep in the living room because she could not sleep in the same room her husband slept in anymore. Although this was the reason she said it was so she could keep them safe in case someone came into their home. Wes and his family moved to his grandparents' house in the Bronx, located in New York. Their grandparents' house was a three-bedroom home, where anyone could go if they needed a place to stay. There were 5-9 people living in these tight living conditions. The grandparents are from Cuba and Jamaica. The United States gave the grandparents the life they always dreamt of.
