I was at my parents' house and this was the paper to hand. I am considering autoethnography as a methodology so tackled the activity similarly to the "into the woods without a compass" approach explained by Ellis (2004, p.120). It also resonated with Sarah Todorov's description of scrutinising her interpretative phenomenological analysis data wondering if any findings would surface. The owls symbolise wisdom: the wisdom to approach a challenging subject sensitively; to discover truths from experience and to present these truths appropriately to practitioners and policy makers.
