There's so many resources for teachers to use from from intellectual knowledge gaining to activities to do in the classroom.

After spending almost an hour choosing just one article to share, I found one on turning the school/classroom environment into a game setting. It mentioned how curriculum and game designers came together and they noticed that "Systems are all about connections, networks, and the ways in which nodes relate to one another. This focus on connections might also be one of the building blocks of citizenry, humanity, and social community." Using this concept, they proposed a great alternative to the classic classroom.

Fatima Rasuli
https://ww2.kqed.org/mindshift/2014/07/24/what-happens-when-school-design-looks-like-game-design/

It is so creative to think to give parents something like this. From my past experience in schools, they give something similar from the district to all the parents, but not from a classroom, usually the book is from the district and their rules and regulations. But from my perspective, it is important to have something from a classroom, that has its rules and regulations, because every teacher has different exceptions from their students in their classroom.

It was interesting it gave different ideas to teach students the same concepts and skills with diverse abilities using differentiated instruction. For example, high achievers can be given compacting curriculum. This idea looks like it lets the students make decisions on their learning outcomes. However, it is important for assessments to be administered to make sure students are on task and their interest are being met.

I really enjoyed surfing through this site and reading all of the articles Davis wrote. Then on her other tabs she provides links to active and past presentations for you to watch. One I really enjoyed reading was the first article about her nephews and how well they understood and caught on to the app she was teaching them. It is still crazy to think how young they were and how easy it is for them to use it!
-Alexandra Magdaleno
http://rafranzdavis.com/

In the example I found, it shows an anchor chart that helps students check their work before they turn it in or submit it online. It is very useful especially for those students who tend to finish their work quickly. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/515451119836078833/

-Carlos Gonzalez

Free Tech for Teachers

I chose Free Tech for Teachers because, throughout the course, I have come to realize the importance of technology in the classroom. It engages children and opens their minds to new things. The resource I chose is amazing because it contains so much helpful videos such as several ways to use Google Keep in the classroom, and more. It also contains examples of several apps for Ipads for lower grade levels. What most called my attention was that it teaches students video creation. This would be a great method for the higher grades such as 3-5 grades. It helps get students excited about research, storytelling, and demonstrating their capabilities to the audience.

http://www.freetech4teachers.com/p/video-creation-resources.html#.WRFMBoWcE_w

Susana Martinez

This site was filled with lots of information for teacher's, parent's, student's and others. Articles, videos and updates are just a few of the items on the front page. There are math, science and social studies tech books to explore. Also included are plenty of articles praising the techbooks. Students have homework help, interactive games, videos, contests and a virtual lab discussing various topics, e.g., 'science behind food'. The parent tab includes resources wherein parents can get tips to inspire and motivate their students/children. There is the DEN (Discovery Education Community) for teachers. This area includes opportunities to get involved in the community, finding upcoming events, a place to share and get resources and strategies. This is blog is filled with good information and resources!
http://blog.discoveryeducation.com/
- Jeanette Arroyo

I chose Free tech for teachers. This website had a lot of link to show you how to use technology. Meaning that they showed you how to enable notifications on your gmail and things like that. I found that to be very helpful because not everyone is tech savy. They also had apps for ipads and androids for beginning grade levels. Overall I thought the site would be very beneficial to teachers. What I liked the most was their tip of the week section because it shows teachers different things they can do in the classroom. I thought that was cool because teachers can come across something that may really work for their students. This weeks tip was 5 different ways teachers could use padlet in the classroom.

http://practicaledtech.com/
Hilda McCurley
