In Leopoldo Gout's Genius: The Game, Rex, a sixteen year old Mexican American who is one of the best programmers in the world, desires to find his older brother who ran away from his family to join a group of hackers. However, when he designs a program to find him, he realizes it can only be ran in a quantum computer. Because of this he hacks his way into getting tickets to a competition hosted by the world's greatest tech company, located in Boston, where one of the few quantum computers in the world is located. Afterwards he meets his international friends and they work together to solve each of their problems, although, Kiran, the CEO of the tech company, reveals that he did not invite Rex to the game on purpose. Soon after, he accuses Rex of a international hack for some government data, he gets locked up and his friends break him out. Finally, they are all now running for their life while clearing their names, fighting a vicious warlord, and finding Rex's lost brother. (Cliffhanger)

The main internal conflict for Rex is: When Teo informs Rex that he was going on a walkabout, Rex asks a lot of questions on why he was doing it, but before he knew it, Teo had left forever. Afterwards he feels a sense of guilt because he did not hold him back instead of letting him go. This eventually leads him to make a program to find him, hack to get into a competition where the program can be run, and etc.

This quote is important because it Teo is teaching Rex that the world is going to change soon. This causes him to wonder about Teo's true purpose for joining Terminal.

In the end, Rex learned that doing everything solo is not always the best. Instead of trying to figure out a way to go to Boston or somewhere with a quantum computer, he hacks his own way into a competition that takes place there. Eventually he starts teaming up with his international friends who which he has been chatting with, and he realizes that working together is better than working by yourself when he gets into and out of jail because of the hack.

The Okeke Solar Power Tower is important because it is one of the many reasons that Tunde is dealing with General Iyabo. It displays Tunde's great use of resources as he built it from the junkyard near his village. It attracted General Iyabo causing him to ask Tunde to build a GPS jammer which he does not want to.

The main external conflict for Rex is that he is fighting Kiran. Kiran, the CEO of Ondscan, is trying to recruit him to help him with his projects. However Rex is trying to find his brother and find out what he is doing. This causes Kiran to eventually frame Rex, expose how he hacked into The Game and more. Rex, Tunde, and Painted Wolf (Cai) are all eventually running from the police while trying to stop him, General Iyabo, and save the world.
