She thinks that only she is correct, and no one can tell her otherwise; she is stubborn.

She speaks with confidence and her tone is sassy, can be hot-headed. She expresses a lot of anger.

• "Thee is mad, boy."

Her vocabulary isn't limited since she is educated and therefore well-spoken.

• "It's all a matter of ideas, and God is just one idea I don't accept... There simply is no blasted God – there is only man and it is he who makes miracles!"

Always expresses a lot of emotion and doesn't always think before she speaks.

• (With fury) "What do you want from me, Brother— that I quit school or just drop dead, which!"

She thinks that she has to exaggerate in order to get her point across in some situations.

• ”Anybody who married Walter could not possibly understand”

Beneatha doesn’t have a great relationship with her brother, she doesn’t have a great relationship with anyone for that matter.

Some of the things she says are to provoke others or to start a discussion. This happens especially when other people say things which she strongly disagrees with (for example when someone says something archaic).

In some situations, she chooses to be passive aggressive or sarcastic to make her family think more about what they are doing/ saying.

She emphasizes a lot of her speech, and she can be very opinionated.

Asks a lot of questions sometimes rhetorical and sometimes raises her voice.

• "See there... you are standing there in our splendid ignorance talking about people who were the first to smelt iron on the face of the Earth!"
