The commercial uses NFL football players, DeAngelo Williams, Jason Witten, and Benjamin Watson, by creating hair styles for their daughters. This commercial uses the repetition by showing how they spend time with their daughters, loving their daughters, and spending quality time with them. Two additions I noticed they added is when the words pop up, “Girls who spend quality time with their dads grow up to be stronger women” and “put the next generation of strong in your hands,” to emphasize the importance of love between the girls and their dads, and Pantene provides that. Another addition is what the dads are saying to their daughters and how they’re responding. For example, in the end of the commercial, Watson asks his daughter what she sees when she looks into the mirror and she responds, “me.” He then answers, “strong is beautiful,” which is Pantene’s main outlook. The directional strategies used is the background music, which is soft and gentle, but almost inspirational and touching when watching/listening to the commercial. Another strategy used is how the girl’s love their dads and appreciate what they do for them. They’re persuading you with the laughter, love, and joy they portray in this commercial, and Pantene gives you that “strong is beautiful” look.
