I felt a desire to celebrate cultural diversity at Mohr. realizing that my friends were unaware of Korean history and culture. I embarked on a journey to propose an event to honor various cultures. I prepared a presentation, seeking support from others. This endeavor garnered support from the school community. Despite changes in plans, it was a success, fostering a sense of belonging and respect within the school. I am hopeful because my thoughts can have a positive impact on many people and there are people who listen to my story.

When I first heard about this theme, I knew I had to write a poem for it. I am a lover of poetry, but this piece really had me thinking. I spent a good handful of time on figuring out how to write the poem. This is because I didn't want this to be just any random poem, I wanted it to be personal to me. In this poem, I talk about how nature gives me hope. Through different examples, like the trees in seasons, I detail how nature exhibits hope in unique ways. Some hope to survive, others hope to change, etc. The examples that I see around me, show me that hope exists everywhere. At the end of the poem, I relate it back to myself, demonstrating that the things that I see around make me hopeful. They show me that hope is essential to get through difficulty/internal complaints, and instead be strong and content, always growing.
