Arguments (Hint - Why is your side the correct one?): 

  1.   The school violated our first amendment right
  2.  The students didn’t do any harm against anyone else’s right
  3.  Any other school don’t stop student from wearing symbolic items


Questions for the other side (Hint - How are you going to prove that their side is wrong?)

  1. Why did the school think it was ok to take away our first amendment right when we are at school?
  2. Why is wearing an armband such a huge distraction for a learning environment?
  3. If the school encourages us to make change and protest then why can’t we do a peaceful protest at school?

Counter-Arguments (Hint - What do you think your opponent is going to say, and how are you going to prove to the jury that your side is better?): 

  1. The school was only trying to keep their learning environment without disrations.
  2. A school is a place to learn not protest.

  1.   Having the substances TLO had on the school grounds will not only be putting herself in danger but also other kids not looking though her belongings might have continued to put other kids in unsafe conditions.

2. The 4th amendment states no Unreasonable searches and seizures, searching TLO’s bag was a reasonable search because she was said to have cigarettes and marijuana witch turned out to be correct 


3. TLO was with another person who admitted to smoking which led to believe they had things like marijuana in there bags Questions for the other side (Hint - How are you going to prove that their side is wrong?)

  1. What would have happened if other students got their hands on the drugs TLO was dealing?
  2. What if the cops came and searched her for nothing?
  3. Did she understand that having those substances on the school grounds are prohibited?

Counter-Arguments (Hint - What do you think your opponent is going to say, and how are you going to prove to the jury that your side is better?): 

  1. You might say we had no reason or Suspicion to search her purse - They had suspicion to believe that TLO had illegal substances on her person  resulting in the reason to search her bag 
 
  1. You might say the principle was not there to see them smoking- A teacher caught the students smoking and the student TLO was caught with admitted to smoking
