         <description><![CDATA[<p>One of the takeaways that I learned from the resources is to have compassion not only towards the individuals I am planning to help but also towards my own self to understand that I can take some time off to recollect my thoughts and take care of my emotional and mental being. The goal is not to avoid burnout because reality is we all face and encounter difficult situations and challenges but the goal becomes facing those difficulties and knowing that we also need to practice self=care routines like creating strong relationship with family and friends, doing fun and relaxing activities that we enjoy or taking care of our mental or emotional health through exercising, praying or enjoying a nature walk. The second takeaway from the resources is understanding that burnout as a future LPC may make me into a liability in my profession, putting the lives of the clients in harm if self-care is not being practiced accordingly when needed or required. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I believe self-care is crucial for different reasons that include maintaining the safety of the client, keeping my mental and emotional health safe and on check, and providing myself with the time and space to also be human and strengthen my personal relationship ties to my family members, friends, and my community. The more I can maintain the balance between being myself outside of work duties and being a professional, the better I can provide support for clients and not deal with burnout to the point where I may become a liability in my profession.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>There are several ways that I try to practice self-care, and if one option does not work, then I try to practice others, and that includes:</p><ol><li><p>Supporting my emotional wellness through praying and attending church service every Sunday to keep connected with my community and with my faith.</p></li><li><p>Establish better routines to take care of my physical health by eating healthy, avoiding alcoholic drinks, and going to the gym 2-3 times a week.</p></li><li><p>Fostering relationships outside of work with my family, friends, and community. I love having movie date nights with my fiancée or going to the dog park to play with our dog, Wallie. I also love being involved in my community by attending family events or sometimes volunteering for different causes.</p></li></ol>]]></description>
