The students appeared to understand what they were working on based on the objectives. I was also impressed with the level of questioning from the teachers in order to help scaffold students to problem solve and increase their understanding of the tasks!

I loved the culture and family feeling I was welcomed with when I entered. I loved hearing soft music play while children were writing. Routines were put in place so children felt safe and heard. In some of the rooms, the groups were all working on the same task. In other rooms, the groups were all working on different tasks. All groups displayed appropriate volume levels and consistent work. I observed students helping and supporting one another. In one room, the teacher was stopping at each group for a few minutes to discuss how the students were progressing on their tasks. It was so helpful to see what is happening vertically and horizontally by grade level. The students were all actively learning and each teacher had a special way of helping students focus on learning objectives and activities.
