Some critics of China’s teaching methods say they place too much emphasis on rote learning with little room for creativity. “The Chinese want to force their kids to practice piano,” says Keng. “It is too old a method. It needs to be more about enjoying playing the piano. For most students it will kill your hobby and kill your enjoyment.”(Montefiore, 2014).

“Galileo discovered this when he devised the first telescope. Each lens he added contributed to a more accurate image of the heavens.”(Bolman & Deal, 2003. p. 19). As same as in education process we also need open mind to having diversified teaching ideas, it is a source of creativity and innovation for teaching. So I am trying to understand each student better, I can feel some students are very talented, some are full of curiosity, every person's path is unique.

When properly conducted and attuned to valued myths, both ritual and ceremony fire the imagination and deepen faith; They can release creativity and transform meanings (Bolman & Deal, 2003. p. 256) It is an indispensable experience for every piano student to go on the stage and play for a strange audience and get everyone's recognition and encouragement. For the students, there is no place more attractive than the stage, and there is no exercise method that can bring encouragement and confidence to them than playing on the stage. I think teachers need to constantly find and create opportunities for students to play. Through the performance, teachers can also observe the characteristics, and real level of each student, to help them improving. We should not only teach children to play the music, but also teach them the confidence and sense of honor they should have on the stage!

For children，their parents or teachers play the politician role. Lots of parents and teachers like to be more strict and force children to practice everyday, they think pressure can promote them get better achievement. However they always ignore children’s feeling, anxious and frustrated make them worse.

Mental models is like the compass of my action, which can help me to plan with the end in mind: Review my whole teaching and learning process, to summary and reflect underlying difficulties we met ; and then clarify the big ideas of students will be exploring, identify what students already know, and develop between the two before next class.

In fact, the essence of learning any knowledge is to enrich and satisfy yourself and help the group better reflect their self-worth. But forced and involuntary learning can be a source of pain, learning piano should be the children’s vision not their parents.

Current situation of musical education in China

According to the newest data from Chinese Musicians' Association, today China is experiencing a piano frenzy with an estimated 40 million children now learning to play（which represents 80% of the world’s children learning to play the piano). (Chnmusic,2016). The instrument is increasingly in vogue among China’s burgeoning middle classes, who have the money to splurge on steep lessons and expensive fixtures. (Montefiore, 2014). Chinese parents have made many sacrifices for their children learning piano, they spend lots of money and time to accompany children practicing. Why are there many highly skilled children in China, most of them are unhappy? This problem has been widely discussed in the field of music and education.
