The difference between direct sunlight and indirect sunlight is that direct sunlight covers a small area of the earths surface with sunlight and indirect sunlight is heat is spread out and colder for example winter heat energy is indirect.
indirect heat has less energy then direct heat because the heat in indirect sunlight is more spread out then in direct sun light which is closer together.

Direct sunlight is sunlight that focuses all it's light on one target (directly hitting an object) compared to indirect sunlight which sunlight hits a surface at an angle making it more spread out but this way less energy is in one simple area as it's spread out it looks dimer since there is less energy in one area (light energy which causes rather heat or brightness making an object rather cooler or hotter/brighter or dimer.), though compared to direct sunlight, energy is strong since it's pointed at one area and the energy stays there making it look brighter than indirect sunlight. So surfaces that get hit by direct sunlight get warmer due to the light energy transforming into heat and more of it equals more heat meaning more temperature, and surfaces that get indirect sunlight get cooler due to light energy transferred to heat and less of it equals less heat meaning less temperature.

In contrast, indirect sunlight is light that does not hit directly on a surface instead at an angle, causing less heat energy. Indirect heat also covers more of the area.
