Activity 1: Creation of a Timeline:

At the beginning of the lesson, I will ask students to create a timeline illustrating the key events in the history of the universe in groups of four. As they are doing this, I will walk around and observe; this will help me to determine which students have some idea of the concept, and which students may need extra support throughout the lesson. After allowing students sufficient time to carry this activity out, I will show students the above photo of an actual timeline of the Big Bang and I will go through it and take questions.
