Why robotic blood draw?

There have been some incredible advances to the healthcare industry to make life easier for healthcare staff and better patient outcomes including ultrasound guided IV insertion and robotic surgeries. Why has the art of blood draw remained stagnate? Robotic phlebotomy utilizes an ultrasound along with tourniquet, needle and arm rest to perform blood draws. The benefit of this innovation would mean fewer "sticks" to find veins. (Goth, 2023)

While I am proponent for medical innovation, I am not a fan of using robots in place of humans. No matter the programming and code writing, there is no replacing the abilities of a human brain to critically think along with human to human interaction. There are some great pros that include less needle sticks, but it may not account for the patient movements or vein stability. Robotic phlebotomy could also replace jobs that people need to support their families. Medical innovations are a must in the healthcare industry to aid in better patient outcomes, efficacy and time management, but these innovations should not replace humans.
