Paul Bunyan

The main reason why it was a tall tale to me was because of the exaggerations in the story. The main character was named Paul Bunyan and he was a baby that had basically no parents after he was born because they left him in a carriage with a bunch of supplies and that's basically it. The exaggeration of the character was they described him as a two week old, 100 pound baby, with a beard.

Reading Response #1: Mood- The mood of the story is starting to become scary and intense. Jason always had a weird feeling about Dylan ( the guy partnered with Piper) and Jason was definitely right about him. Dylan was the reason why there was a huge thunderstorm happening and the reason the field trip was going so wrong. Coach wouldn't listen to Jason when he said there was something wrong with Dylan until he turned into a Venti ( Ghost like figure) and started to fight Piper, Jason, and Coach. The reason why this is making the mood scary is because everyone in the class besides piper, Jason, and coach got inside the building safely, but now coach is trying to save one of the kids that falling off the edge of the building and Jason is fighting Dylan. So, now you can tell why the mood has changed a lot.

Reading Response #3: Tone- The tone of the story is suspenseful and interesting. They had a huge plot twist to the story and at the end of the chapter they left the tone with a very suspenseful (What's happening next) kind of feeling. It's also interesting because I feel like they are holding out the story as much as possible right now because it is saying what's happening in the fight move by move and it is very slow right now. I don't really have a prediction right now with what is going to happen next because it is still suspenseful and slow going so I have to wait until the next chapter.

Reading Response #2: Setting- So far the setting still hasn't changed at all besides the museum they're at used to be very clean and cool and now it's been destroyed and torn apart. Now, that is the outside of the building but the inside on the other case hasn't been touched one bit by the classroom yet but in the future I think Dylan is going to get in and destroy even more things. I really like what they are doing with the story because they give a tiny hint that Dylan is a bad person but they don't make it too obvious. So, I wasn't expecting Dylan to be a bad person and then the plot twist really changed the story and setting a lot.

Reading Response #3: Plot- The plot of the story is still getting to the rising action but I don't think it is anywhere near the climax yet. One thing has gone wrong with Dylan turning into a monster and that is it. So, if only one thing has gone wrong then the rising action is either just starting or it is already in the beginning of it. I'm starting to get interested in the book now because of how action based it is but I think it's going to start slowing down again after they "defeat" or make Dylan stop what he is doing. So, the plot is just starting to enter the rising action and making it's way to the climax.
