I am pursing a masters in educational leadership with Glyndwr University. I wish to become an Assistant Principal with a focus on teaching and learning from a whole school perspective. I am currently the Head of Chemistry at WSO and have previously been Head of Science for 3 years.


Targets for 2023-2024

  1. Lead on the staff training of IB Chemistry IA. Lead on the planning and implementation of the new IB Chemistry curriculum. (To improve IB Chemistry results to very good)

  2. To have Y13 AL Chemistry make better than expected progress.

  3. Lead on the incorporation of adaptive teaching strategies such as formative both within the Science Department and Secondary.

  • Liasing with Biology and Physics and KS3 co-ordinator and HOD on a weekly basis to identify next steps in our Science Action plan (Inquiry Based Learning, Scientific Method, Monitoring of Y11 and Post 16 results)

  • Continue to support new members of staff within the Science department.

  • Identify students who are borderline in P16 IB and A-Level and identify targeted intervention strategies

  • Continue to embed formative within the Science Department

    IA moderation will take place within department prior to mocks and IB job-a-like will take place with WIS to externally moderate IAs.

    When formulating CAG5 it will now be weighted as per IB exam to include performance in paper 1,2 and 3 aswell as IA (previous mock exam took average performance of paper 1 and 2 and this resulted in an over-inflated mock grade)

  • Led three whole school PDs end of term 3 2022 and two in in term 1 of 2023 on adaptive teaching. Have trained staff on the use of go formative in lessons for adaptive teaching.

  • IB IA moderation went really well so I would like to build on that this year and collab with the other group 4 to see how we can incorporate the new structure throughout Y12 into our labs.

  • Y13 AL Chemistry are such a strong year group this year for FXA and I so I hope they will make great progress
