Pictures at an Exhibition-(MOVEMENT #7 and Bydlo

I chose movement #7 which is called Byldo. The movement expresses and illustrates feelings of gloominess. For example, if you had a really bad day, the song would be playing through your head. The music sounds dark and horrific as the notes are at the far left of the piano. The notes are also on the minor scale, and as most minor songs, indicate horror and tragedy. Byldo corresponds with the artwork as both illustrate darkness and moroseness. In the artwork, the colors are dark and the cow looks sad. Hence, the song, relates as the notes demonstrate melancholy.

The piece of art below is called

The Boulevard Montmartre at Night. The artist that painted this is Camille Pissarro. In the artwork, it illustrates people walking out onto a street at night. The piece represents calm and soothing emotions as the blue and cool colors fill the painting. The vibrant colors also fill the painting, that can represent warmth in the piece. Therefore, the painting illustrates calmness and warmth.

I'm going represent my music with having a bright and soft sound playing throughout my piece. The instrument I'll be using is the piano and the notes will be on a major sound. The style that fits best with the artwork is chill/ambient music.

For my piece I will be using the piano. I'm going to begin with the melody and the some parts of the harmony. I'll also be working on the tonality which is going to be major. Hence, I will be using notes that are located to the right of the piano. I will represent the artwork by having soft notes.

For my second day, I have added more notes. I have also added more of the soft and happy emotions. My envision of the artwork is soft and happy, like the feeling you would get when you walk through a boardwalk that is alive with things happening all around. The next step is beginning to add growth to my piece, I'm going to begin adding an intro and outro.
