Stanley the main character is accused of crime which he did not commit. So he was sent to Camp Green Lake, when you think of camp green lake you might think of a big green lake where you could take a nice swim in, how ever this lake was dried up, people use to live around that lake a hundred years ago. Now the temperature around there is about 94 degrees F. Boys who commit crimes are sent there to dig holes as a punishment, the hole has to be 5 feet deep and 5 feet wide.

One normal day Stanley was digging a hole, when the water supplier came. Stanley stole the suppliers truck and drove it into a hole and crashed it really bad. Stanley ran as fast as he could to get away from the camp, once Stanley got to the boat he found Zero, Zero is Stanley best friend. Stanley was starving at the moment surprisingly Zero found some peach juice in a jar and called it splosh, and they both drank it. They both had to move on and walk to the mountain where marry Lou's master grew onions, they found water and onions there and ate them for days they also drank a lot of water.

Q/A's
1. The thing that I liked about the book was that there was also a hope for survival and there was a lot of conflict in the book. I also like the ending of the book when Stanley and Zero find the treasure and are trapped by the 12 spotted lizards. The things that I don't like about the book is the part when Stanley great great grandfather does not get what he wanted after working really hard.

2. The conflict was when Stanley's great great grandfather did not get what he wanted after all that hard work, he carried pigs every day to a mountain peek and on the same peek marry Lous master grew onions. And sold them by the green lake.

3. I did not really have any connections with the book. However I could connect the book to my country because they also have donkeys and they plant onions in the ground and they live the simplest life you could images, there life is peaceful and they don't worry about money too much as long as there is a problem.

4. “There is no lake at Camp Green Lake.” (p. 3) this quote stuck out to me, this quote has to do a lot with the background of the story, that's where the story really began and ended. There is no lake at camp green lake because it dried through out the years of the curse. “If I had just kept those old smelly sneakers, then neither of us would be here right now.” (p. 184) this quote is based on Zeros perspective because Zero thinks that he is the blame of the cause of there turn up at the Camp. However, his statement really sums up the whole theme of fate. The boys were destined to be together on the mountain so that Elya Yelnats’ promise to Madame Zeroni could be fulfilled. “He’s not going to die,” the Warden said, “Unfortunately for you.” (p.91) in this part of the book Stanley is responsible for Mr.sir getting slapped by the rattle snake poison, now mister sir is up to taking revenge from Stanley, one hot after noon Stanley was digging and mister sir came around in his truck to give out water but he spilled Stanley share of the water on the ground.

5. I recommend this book to every one who is interested in adventures fiction, this book gives you several different perspective's of adventure. This book also has a movie based on it, if you get done reading the book you'll be able to watch the movie and kind of put it all together and do a movie and a book comparison.

6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wT3RhIJZu4k here is a link to the song which relates and has to do a lot with the book because when you look at Stanley he is a person of hope, he gives hope to many, when he teaches Zero how to learn how to read and write, Stanley is discourage many times by the other kids at the camp, even when they are climbing up the mountain peak they almost die, but they never give up on the hope and continue on climbing.

Question number 3.
This cover represent a lot that has to do with the book because the book is based on holes and a treasure which was buried in the desert, in this cover you'll see some lizards crawling up to there faces, in this part of the book they find the treasure and are covered by 12 spotted lizards but the lizards don't bite because Stanley and Zero have ate all the onions required which would protect them from getting bitten by a lizard.
