• The money is the Hungarian Forint (1€ = 310 HUF approximately). Some shops accept the euros, but the conversion rate is often poor so it's better to pay with forints !

• You can use your student card to have some discounts (ex : for the transport, 11€ / month). With this card, you can take the bus, the metro, the tram and some boats !

• You have to pronounce BOO-DA-PESHT ! 

• Hungarian, or Magyar, is the official language in Hungary. But don't worry, you can be understood if you speak in English  

• If you have any problem, don't forget that you can contact the ambassy of your contry in Budapest !

• BBS (also called BGE) is a "human size" university. You will not be lost and it's good to make new friends !

• BBS is located at aproximately 25 min from the center by public transports 

• Some events are organised every months for Erasmus student !

Of course, you can find a lot of beautiful monuments : the Parliament, the Fisherman's Bastion, the Castle, the bridges... So many places to see ! 

Don't forget the baths, they are everywhere in Budapest and it's incredible during the night !

• Eating a goulash at the Fisherman's Bastion with an amazing view on the Parliament

• Doing a cruise on the Danube... There are special river shuttles, and it's free if you have the monthly pass ! Incredible by night 

• Renting a small car to discover Margaret Island and its musical fountain during summer

You can't study in Budpest without trying the hungarian food. Lot of cheese, lot a meat, lot of paprika !

You should try, for example : 

• the goulash : a soup with paprika, vegetable and beef 

• the lángos (on the picture) : deep fried dough usually served with sour cream and grated cheese

• the chimneycake (Kürtőskalács) : a round cake dusted in flavours like walnuts, cinnamon or chocolate.
