We are going to make our service known in many ways. First, we will make posters for our snack stand at Loose Park. Next, we will buy the supplies for the stand. Then, we will do the stand and gather up the money. Then, a couple of weeks later we will be doing the same thing on Eva's block, and hope to raise enough money to go out and buy hygiene products in bulk at Costco. Next, we will go into Giving the Basics and give our supplies to them. Finally, we will go and volunteer to pack all of the products so they can ship them out at Giving The Basics.

Giving the Basics was founded in 2009, to help a single mom who couldn't even afford toilet paper. Many people do not have enough money for hygiene products and may even be embarrassed. Government assistance programs do not cover the cost of hygiene products so people need extra support. Giving the Basics provides hygiene products like soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent, etc. to people who need to spend money on other things like food. These hygiene products go directly to veterans, students, senior citizens, former prisoners, and even the mentally ill.

Giving the Basics is staffed with volunteers who have jobs like packaging bags of hygiene products, and sorting the products. They have a monthly community night that allows you to volunteer with others and learn about the organization. They are teaming with more that 140 other nonprofit organizations. Giving the Basics has also distributed 15,546,549 products. Giving the Basics serves 585,093 people monthly. They have 805 locations including one in Kansas City. Giving the Basics strengthens our community and brings us closer to each other.
